Lucas rushes to his phone to answer Edie’s telephone call. Edie tells him it may be difficult to go around the Assembly’s plans but suggests a new idea. There is a Franklin & Sons grant he could apply for, and Mrs. Franklin already has an interest in education. They start making a pan, as Florence is still listening in on the line.

Charlotte gives him the letter to keep.
