When Los Angeles journalist Kelly Faraday (Laura Leighton) visits her mother Ruth (Angie Dickinson) on the farm she grew up on, she finds out her hometown has been suffering a terrible drought and may have to sell out to a casino developer. But the deal seems suspicious, and it will take some hard investigation to call it off and let the town keep what's rightfully theirs.
