Oxaca Chocolate Sandwiches are inspired by the flavors from Oxaca, Mexico, where chocolate is grown and is part of the city’s reputation for moles. Ozxaca cacao beans are often ground and combined with sugar, almonds, and cinnamon to mix with milk for a delicious hot chocolate.
We chose hot chocolate for the cake flavor inspiration because it’s our favorite beverage to enjoy on Christmas Eve! Ever since we were kids, our tradition with our families has been to read Twas the Night Before Christmas.
