Romance novelist Liam Bradley (Dylan Bruce) has already found massive success with three books written under the pen name Gabriel August, but he's mysteriously unknown to his legions of readers. With his first book written as a way to heal after a broken relationship, Liam has slowly become disheartened with writing strictly for romantic fantasy, something evident to a sweet, but honest, journalist who reviews books, Sophie Atkinson (Amy Acker), whom he meets by chance on a plane. The two begin a tentative relationship in Sophie’s home town of Portland, Maine, where Liam has come to find inspiration for his newest entry.
When Ryan was home in Los Angeles for her 20th birthday she expressed to Holly that she has always felt that some of her life accomplishments have been overlooked because of her twin brother, RJ having Autism. Holly has decided that she needs visit Ryan in New York City and has persuaded Dolores to accompany her on this spontaneous trip. Holly’s goal is to give Ryan some much needed attention and love but this is also a great opportunity for all three generations to spend some quality time together.
Cassie is about to close up the store for the evening when Martha comes in looking for a map of historic Middleton. Once she finds the map, Martha realizes it might be a bit older than what she was looking for. Sam surprises Cassie by bringing in boxes for her to help pack old inventory to make room for new arrivals. When Sam kisses Cassie before departing, Martha points out to Cassie that it definitely appears she and Sam have gotten closer.
