Stay-at-home mom Laura Miller (Bonnie Somerville) chose family life over a glamorous career. Her husband Michael (James Tupper), a workaholic realtor, eternally conducts business on his cell phone while her 17-year-old son (Iain Belcher) and 12-year-old daughter (Kaitlyn Bernard) are absorbed in their young life dramas. It's Mother's Day weekend and still nobody is paying attention to Laura's needs. Excitement is injected into Laura's life when her dazzling and affluent BFF Trish (Ona Grauer) shows up and whisks her off on an adventure-filled trip to a lavish resort in Napa.
When Hope Calls centers around sisters Lillian (Morgan Kohan) and Grace (Jocelyn Hudon) who open an orphanage in the 1916 Western town of Brookfield. As the two are caught between the traditions of cattle ranchers and the ambitions of a growing town, they strive to find romance and happiness while overcoming the challenges of helping the children in their care. Throughout their journey, they discover community, acceptance and love as they create the family they always longed to have. Viewers will recognize Kohan and Hudon who first appeared as their characters in the 2018 When Calls The Heart holiday movie, “The Great Christmas Blessing.”
When commitment-phobe Rob Marino (Joey Lawrence) breaks up with his girlfriend before Thanksgiving, he is criticized by his big Italian family about his inability to keep a relationship through the holidays. Wanting to prove them wrong and fulfill his dying grandmother’s (Paula Shaw) wish to see him happy in love, Rob goes online and finds Julie (Emily Hampshire), another single New Yorker who’s meddling Jewish mom (Marilu Henner), has driven her to seek a temporary boyfriend. Rob and Julie agree to pose as a couple through the holidays to get their families off their backs. But things get complicated when Rob’s Catholic clan and Julie’s Jewish family get involved. With Christmas coming and Hanukkah around the corner, they double their efforts to keep the charade going, only to discover their fake feelings may be a little too real.
Sam finds Cassie planting bulbs and guesses tulips. Cassie is surprised he knew. She also knows things, like by the look on Sam’s face their trip to Chicago is canceled. He is sorry but Dr. Jacobson’s first surgery with the hip robotics system is tomorrow and he has some doubts about the surgeon’s skills. As it is too late to cancel Sam suggests Cassie take someone else. She has a few people in mind.
