Spice Up Your Cabinet
Author Yaniv Cohen brings some great tips from his book, “My Spiced Kitchen.” Today he is preparing a dish of Cumin Lamb and Prune Skewers which includes cumin, cinnamon and paprika. Cumin is a great detoxifier, cinnamon has antibacterial properties and paprika is full of Vitamin C, iron and magnesium. Yaniv shows off some additional spice blends that are very beneficial for your health including Dukkah, Baharat and Za’atar.

Slow Cooker Mojo Pork with Yucca
Judge of BYUtv’s show “Dinner Takes All” Eddie Zamora is in the kitchen today with Ali preparing a zesty recipe! This dish features Cuban Mojo which is a citrus juice, and Yucca which is packed full of vitamin C and antioxidants that benefit the immune system. He explains that Yucca (or Casaba root) is a Cuban staple and can be found in Latin markets. Finally, the Mojo sauce is prepared to top the Yucca. Ali is a huge fan of garlic and she loves the dish!

She shares that she always knew from a very young age that she wanted to be a lighthouse keeper. She thrives on the challenge and enjoys the isolation. She calls the little foxes near the lighthouse her pets and explains that one even enjoys watching TV! Sue is also a mother to grown children and shares that her 18 year old son recently visited her this past summer.
