MATERIALS:

  • Slippers

RHINESTONE SLIPPERS:

  • Rhinestones or gems with flat back
  • E6000 or gem-tac glue
  • Jewel picker, bamboo skewer or tweezers

SEQUIN SLIPPERS:

  • Sequin fabric
  • Muslin fabric
  • Tacky spray
  • Fabric scissors
  • Chalk or fabric marker
  • Fabri-tac

INSTRUCTIONS:

To Create the Rhinestone Slippers:

  1. Place a gem in the center of where your design will be first, glue down. This takes some of the guesswork out of spacing and arrangement. PRO TIP: If using fur slippers, part the hair where you want to, then glue gems in place.
  2. Arrange the other gems around the center one to complete your design. PRO TIP: Use a jewel picker or other utensil to place gems with ease.
  3. Glue the gems down in place. Repeat on the other slipper.
  4. Allow the glue to dry for 24 hours and enjoy!

To Create the Sequin Slippers:

  1. To create a pattern for your sequin fabric, spray your slipper with tacky spray and lay a piece of muslin on top. Trace around the edge of the top of the shoe where you want to add the sequins. Cut the pattern out.
  2. Trace the pattern onto your sequin fabric and cut.
  3. Adhere the sequin fabric to the slipper. Apply fabri-tac around the edges of the slipper. Use your fingernail or a pointed utensil to firmly press the edge of the fabric down so that it appears seamless. Repeat on the other slipper.
  4. Allow the glue to dry for 24 hours and enjoy!
