Learn how to make your light Spring jackets sparkle with DIY Sequin Camo Jackets.

MATERIALS:

  • Camo army jacket
  • Sequin fabric
  • Fabric scissors
  • Fabri-tac
  • Optional to create pattern:
    • Paper
    • Ruler

INSTRUCTIONS:

To Create Using the Pattern

  1. Place a piece of paper onto the area of the jacket you want to cover with sequins. Use your nail or a ruler to crease the paper along the seam. PRO TIP: Use craft paper on a roll or pattern paper for larger areas.
  2. Place the pattern onto the fabric, trace or pin in place.
  3. Cut the fabric out.
  4. Use fabri-tac to adhere to the jacket, place glue in the middle and edges, but not too close to any snaps or buttons.
  5. If necessary, create a slit for the button or snaps on the jacket. Find the button or snap, pinch the fabric above it then make a cut to expose the button or snap.
  6. Allow the glue to set for 24 hours and enjoy!

To Create Directly on Jacket

  1. Apply glue around the edges and in the center of the panel you want to add sequins to. Avoid areas near buttons or snaps.
  2. Place the fabric right side up onto the glue. Press and smooth to secure on the jacket.
  3. Trim the fabric to the edge of desired seam with the fabric scissors. Be careful not to cut into the jacket.
  4. If necessary, create a slit for the button or snaps on the jacket. Find the button or snap, pinch the fabric above it then make a cut to expose the button or snap.
  5. Allow the glue to set for 24 hours and enjoy!
