Sisters Amanda and Mae are reunited when reality show KITCHEN CLASH comes to their town, and the competition between their two feuding restaurants heats up.
Cassie brings English Breakfast tea to Joy and finds her startled from a strange dream. Joy soon realizes she fell asleep with Elizabeth Merriwick’s journal next to her and quickly hides it. Cassie says dreams can tell us a lot. Joy finds Cassie knows a lot about dreams, and Cassie says it’s a Merriwick thing.
On her way down the stars, Cassie is suddenly overwhelmed by the presence of something familiar. Outside, a hand prepares to knock on the door before the visitor thinks better of it and turns to walk away. Just then Cassie opens the door to find Ryan starting to walk away. They smile when they see each other and Ryan tells Cassie that he has business in the area and thought he’d stop by. Cassie asks if they can have lunch while he’s in town and Ryan says yes and that they need to talk.
Outside Bell, Book and Candle, Cassie flips through pictures on John’s cell phone. The last time the two saw each other was years ago in Istanbul, where they were part of an archeological dig. While there, Cassie realized that her life was headed in a different direction and she unexpectedly left to pursue her own path. Her departure left John feeling as though he’d abandoned her and things were never the same for John again. But John is now on to the next new chapter of his life, teaching archeology at the college in Blairsville. John now hopes that his new job will give he and Cassie the chance to get reacquainted.
Elizabeth focuses on teaching Angela how to read braille. Rosemary and Lee struggle to give Rachel the freedom she was promised in Hope Valley. Bill feels displaced when he's asked to finally return his Mountie uniform.
