Cassie, Abigail and Joy say “cheers” to family over tea. Cassie admits she knew the whole time that Joy was a Merriwick as they have a certain energy. Abigail wonders if Joy will stick around. Joy does have a house to renovate – Martha’s new mansion. Cassie adds she also has family to get to know better.
Abigail thinks the progressive dinner Cassie is planning for Joy is a great idea, especially as she is off the hook for making anything. Joy appreciates the hard work going into her dinner to meet everyone and has an idea, from Elizabeth Merriwick. Cassie finishes her thought saying she loves making dream candles. Joy, shocked but not surprised, says they should do it. Abigail asks what dream candles are exactly and Joy explains it is a Merriwick tradition in which you etch your dream into the wick tab and let the wax set around it. Once the candle burns down the dream is supposed to come true.
In Olivia’s backyard, she and Jack are enjoying a cup of coffee when Will calls out from behind them, “You don’t have any milk.” It’s an errand Will would take care of if his schedule wasn’t already booked with a tennis game. He then casually explains to Olivia, “It’s okay, you can just pick some up after work.” Amused, Jack remarks that he can’t believe Olivia and Will are related. Olivia then explains to Jack that thanks to their mom and all the other women in Will’s life, he’s never had to do for himself. Olivia is determined not to fall into that trap.
