Kid Pumpkin Carving with Matt Rogers & Son
Matt Rogers and his son Brayden Rogers review safety tips for pumpkin carving with kids to avoid trips to the ER. Learn what kind of knife is best for children to use under close adult supervision and the safest technique. Plus, instead of placing a candle inside your jack-o-lantern, use a glowing LED light. To extend the lifespan your pumpkin, cut it open from the bottom so it can continue getting nutrients from its stem. Morgan the Parrot
Morgan the Parrot ruffled a lot of feathers when he was returned to his original British owner speaking Spanish. With us today is Liza Smith and her grandfather Rubin Hernandez. Liza explains her grandparents had purchased Morgan at a garage sale, not knowing another family was looking for him. When he flew the coup from their care as well, his finder contacted veterinarian Dr. Teresa Micco, who coincidentally is searching for her own lost bird. She scanned Morgan's microchip and returned him to the British woman, who was surprised to discover the bird she taught French was now speaking Spanish. The Spanish-speaking Hernandez family heard this story on the news and has since been reunited with the tri-lingual parrot. Dr. Micco goes on to explain how the voice box in parrots enables them to mimic human language.
