Jacob is in Toronto working at a whiskey bar. A man and a woman enter to order espresso martinis, but Jacob clarifies they only serve whiskey. The man rudely walks out and the lady jokes to Jacob that she is never agreeing to go on blind date again. Jacob wishes her luck and she leaves. Now alone in the bar, Jacob looks in the mirror, and a vision of Thomas Coyle appears. He asks Jacob how long he plans to keep himself stuck behind the bar.

At his house, Elliot and Alice are beginning to grow concerned that Kat hasn’t returned. They begin speculating and are certain that Tessa must have traveled to the past at some point. To both of their surprise, Nick walks in. He informs them that he is closing in on buying a new house and returning to Port Haven full-time. Nick asks what the latest pond drama is, and Alice explains things are getting complicated. Nick insists on hearing the latest.

Del and Sam are working in the garden outside of the Landry home. Sam asks Del if she had time to think about moving in with him. Del politely declines his offer. Sam is understanding and tells Del he is excited to spend more time with her, regardless of what roof they are under.

In 1925, Kat is still stuck behind bars. Cliff confronts her and asks her to explain herself and who she really is, especially since she has no ID. Kat insists she will only give Cliff answers if she brings Kat to Fern. Cliff denies her demand, but insists Fern is safe. Kat then tries to explain that she was drugged by the Auggie boys, but Cliff doesn’t believe her. Fern suddenly arrives and informs Cliff that she paid Kat’s bail.

As they are walking back to the Landry farm together, Alice and Elliot fill in Nick about all the latest with the pond and the search for answers about Tessa. They arrive to the Landrys’ and Nick tells Del and Sam that he is moving back for good. He mentions to Del that he is looking to buy a boat, but Del clarifies that Colton’s old boat isn’t for sale. A car pulls up the driveway. A man walks out and Nick introduces him as his biological father, Julian. Julian flirtatiously introduces himself to Del. Sam steps in and introduces himself as Del’s boyfriend. Julian tells Sam that he is the luckiest man in Port Haven. Del and Julian briefly connect over the fact that they both grew up on farms.

Back in 1925, Kat is getting ready to jump into the pond to return home. She continues to question Fern about knowing a song from the future. Fern denies any connection to the future. She then confesses that she was the one who drugged Kat. She was worried the Auggie boys were after Kat and that she would be safer in prison. Kat angrily reveals to Fern that the Auggie boys are working for Grayson. Fern doesn’t believe her. Kat disappointedly shares that she thought she could trust Fern, but she doesn’t anymore. Kat jumps in the pond.

At the Landry’s, Julian mentions that Nick’s first love’s name was Alice. Nick nearly spits out his drink and Alice jokes that it’s a funny coincidence. Kat returns home with wet hair, and Nick suggests that he and Julian should head out. Del and Sam head into town to deliver honey to The Point.

Kat explains to Alice and Elliot what happened during her last pond visit. They insist that Kat take a break from jumping in the pond to avoid danger. Kat agrees but also knows she goes back because she saw herself in the movie film. Kat then notices a symbol on the bullet casing that Alice found in the Lingermore tunnels. She matches it with a photo of Grayson Goodwin that she found in the cabin. Grayson has the same crown-like symbol on his holstered gun. Elliot remembers that a crown is part of the Goodwin family crest. Kat concludes that Grayson must have spent time in the Lingermore tunnels helping the bootleg scheme in Port Haven. Kat immediately wants to jump in the pond but jokes that she is “grounded” from the pond.

Downstairs with Alice and Del, Kat talks about wanting to leave her job once the fall starts. She isn’t sure what she wants to do next but is excited to find out. Del reveals that Sam asked her to move in with him. Kat and Alice are shocked, but Del clarifies she said no, but isn’t opposed to trying new things and going new places in the future. She explains how outgoing she and Colton were, especially before settling down with their family, and reminisces on their amazing “kitchen parties.” Del suggests they host a kitchen party to celebrate Nick’s return. There is a knock on the door, and Del goes to answer it. Julian delivered her a beautiful bouquet of snapdragons, which he remembered she liked because they were growing outside.

Nick stops at The Point to pick up food while Alice is working. Alice tells him she is thinking of jumping in the pond again to find more answers about Tessa, but that she is hesitant. She is afraid of how her relationships in 1978 stand, and worried that people will notice she is not aging at the same rate. Nick encourages her to just jump and figure it out while she is there.

Elliot goes to The Herald to see Kat. She is searching through old files hoping to learn more about Grayson. She mentions that she should be focusing on work, but she keeps getting caught up searching for more answers. Elliot offers to help.

Alice jumps in the pond to return to the past. She hides behind a tree and watches Tessa and Vic arrive at the Landrys’ for a kitchen party. Before they walk in, Vic stops Tessa to tell her how beautiful she looks and that he can’t wait to marry her. He then heads inside, while Tessa notices Alice spying from behind the tree. Tessa greets her and asks if she’s coming inside. Alice explains that she was just leaving, but Tessa can tell she is asking suspicious and questions her. Alice reminds Tessa that she saw her taking money from the register at Coyle’s. Tessa agrees to stay quiet about seeing her and walks inside. Alice peeks through the window and watches everyone happily enjoying the kitchen party.

While digging through archives at The Herald, Kat discovers Grayson Goodwin’s marriage certificate, but Fern is not the other name on there. Elliot also finds a photo of Grayson as a child standing alongside his younger sister Cassandra, who died young. Kat recognizes this picture as the mural that Grayson had commissioned, and that the White Witch protected. Kat reminds herself that she should be working but reveals to Elliot that she is considering leaving her job at The Herald, which is why she is having a hard time focusing.

Back in the ‘70s, Alice sneaks inside to watch the kitchen party. Colton is singing for everyone. Evelyn begins pouring glasses of wine, and when she hands one to Del, she notices she isn’t drinking it.

In the present, Del is preparing the house for the kitchen party while dancing to “Dancing in the Moonlight.” Kat is curious where Alice is, and Nick mentions that she jumped in the pond. Everyone else begins to arrive, and Julian comments that he noticed the flowers he sent. Sam is surprised to hear that Julian sent Del flowers.

Back at the kitchen party in the past, Tessa asks Colton about the Landry family almanac, specifically about Jacob Landry, whose name is dated in the 1800s. Del mentions to Colton that she likes the name Jacob. Fern comes downstairs to greet everyone. She notices a new face and gets introduced to Tessa. Fern’s mood sours as she warns Tessa to take her hands off the almanac. She will never be a part of their family, no matter how hard she tries. Everyone is confused as to why Fern appears to know Tessa. Alice watches on from the behind staircase but rushes out as soon as the confrontation ends.

Elliot and Nick are singing together at the present-day kitchen party. Del asks Julian more about his relationship with Nick. Julian explains that he was friends with both of his mothers. They came to him to help them have a child. He emphasizes that he was willing because it was something he could do to make people that he cared about happy. Sam watches Del and Julian talking and raises his glass toward them from across the room. Julian comments that Del and Sam seem very comfortable with each other. After Elliot and Nick finish their song, Kat announces that she is going to be closing shop at The Herald. She mentions continuing her novel or working on an updated history of Port Haven book. Rita then invites Julian to perform for everyone. Julian stands up and recites a monologue from Shakespeare’s “The Tempest.”

Back in the ‘70s, Alice tries to catch up with Fern to check on her. She quickly hides as Del comes outside to do the same. Del comforts her and helps her back inside. Del then turns toward the bushes that Alice is hiding behind and throws the wine out of her glass. Alice dodges the wine while managing to stay quiet so that Del doesn’t notice her. Colton comes outside to check on Del. He asks if everything is okay and holds Del’s small baby bump. She reminds Colton that they should wait to tell everyone because it was hard for her to get pregnant. Colton agrees and mentions that 1979 is the year they will start their family.

Alice returns to the present, joining the kitchen party. Elliot invites her to sing as he plays piano for her. Elliot notices that one of the keys is sticky and reminds himself to fix it later. Alice pulls up sheet music on her phone for Elliot to start playing. It is the same song that she heard Colton playing at the kitchen party in the past. Del begins getting emotional but runs off to answer the phone. When excitedly announces to everyone that Jacob is on the phone, he immediately hangs up. Jacob has been having visions of Thomas, and this time he tells Thomas that it is better he stays where he is because his family seems happy.

After the party is over, Kat tries to call Jacob, but he doesn’t answer. Alice begins telling Kat and Elliot about her visit to the pond. She mentions that Del was pregnant in 1979, which was well before Kat was born. None of them knew that Del lost a baby. Elliot goes outside to check on Del. Del tells him that the party was a way for her to live in the past to forget about the future. Del explains that she can’t imagine losing Jacob again in the future. Elliot wishes that he could solve all of Del’s problems.

The next day, Sam finds Del tending to the horses. He suggests they should talk about everything that’s going on. Del mentions that Sam doesn’t seem bothered about Julian flirting with her, and reminds him their relationship is a gift, not a given. While Sam shares how much he cares for their relationship, Del suggests they take a step back.

Kat asks Alice if she has seen Elliot. He texted Kat at 4 a.m. saying he would be back soon, and to not jump in the pond while he is gone. Alice doesn’t know where he is. She then tells Kat she has more to talk about from her last pond visit.

Meanwhile, Elliot arrives at the bar where Jacob works. He tells Jacob he is there to bring him home.

Alice explains to Kat that Fern was consumed with hate when she saw Tessa in 1979. They conclude Tessa and Fern had met in the past, but it hasn’t happened for 1979 Tessa yet; they believe she jumped in the pond in 1983. They take a closer look at the family almanac and notice that the handwriting is different for Jacob Jr.’s death date. Kat recognizes the handwriting and matches it to the letter Tessa sent to Elliot before she passed, meaning Tessa must have been there in 1882 when the death date was written. Nick walks in as Alice and Kat are discussing this. They also notice that Tessa wrote Fern’s birth date in the almanac. Alice and Kat hypothesize that Tessa arrived in 1882 but got stuck in the past when Griffin returned home. Kat insists jumping in the pond again to bring Tessa back. Alice insists she should join but Nick offers to go instead to protect Kat. They agree, and Nick is excited to jump in the pond for the first time. Alice warns him to not get separated from Kat or he could get trapped in the past.

Elliot sits at the bar with Jacob over a drink. Elliot explains that Del is unhappy without Jacob. He tells Elliot to leave and that he will keep hurting them if he returns. Elliot tries to convince him, but Jacob demands he leave. As he is walking out, Elliot tells him that he isn’t starting a new life. He’s just running away from his old one.

Kat and Nick are at the pond together. They join hands and jump.

Del is out riding the horse when she notices a man walking toward the pond. She believes it’s Colton and tries to chase after him on the horse. Her horse hesitates as they approach the pond but eventually continues. As they near the pond, her horse is spooked and aggressively bucks off Del. She lands hard on the ground.
