In a flashback to Alice’s first visit in the pond, Alice throws her bracelet in the pond out of frustration. She slips in trying to retrieve it and inadvertently travels to 1999, where she is greeted by a teenaged Kat Landry. Kat brings her back to the Landry farm and introduces her to her father, Colton. Kat tells Colton that she found Alice swimming in the pond. Once Kat and Alice walk off, Colton has a shocked expression on his face. Back inside, Alice tells Colton that she is just traveling with her mom in Port Haven. He then recalls Alice telling him the same thing in 1974, and later remembers singing with her in 1974 as they sing together again in 1999.
Still in 1999, Kat is about to go to sleep, and Colton comes up to her bedroom. He asks Kat about Alice, and Kat says that it’s a shame that she’s leaving for camp soon because she and Alice would have had a fun summer together. Kat is reading one of Colton’s books and comments how it’s weird that the character’s name is Alice.
Back in the present day, Del, Sam, Kat and Jacob are in the kitchen. Sam is there to give legal advice because Louis Goodwin wants to press charges on Jacob for attempted arson. Sam tells them that although Jacob didn’t end up doing anything, even attempting something like that goes on his permanent record. Jacob is about to walk away, but Del stops him and tells him they need to deal with it. He says he will deal with it and the consequences and walks away.
Kat and Alice head to the pond, where they are greeted by Elliot. Alice is trying to go back to 1999. Kat and Elliot wish her luck and Alice jumps in. Kat tells Elliot that they need to talk. Elliot says that they will soon, but Jacob needs her right now.
Alice arrives in 1999 and is greeted by Kat and Elliot at the Landry farm. Up in the barn, they play M.A.S.H., a written gimmick game that is supposed to predict your future. Kat reaches into Elliot’s bag to grab a notebook and finds a gift. Elliot made Kat a mixtape as a going-away gift before camp. Continuing their game of M.A.S.H., the game predicts Kat will have one kid, and Kat tells them that she hopes it’s a girl. Alice begins to get emotional and tells that they are her best friends, even though she hasn’t known them very long. Kat agrees, and Elliot tells Alice that she is someone he will never forget.
In the present day, Jacob shares his regret with Elliot. Elliot shows Jacob the artifact that he found in the clock. Elliot notices a message on the bottom of the clock. It reads, “Time past and time future. And in between is the still point of now. Find me there.” Jacob hypothesizes that the artifact is a pendulum. They attach it to the top of the clock, and it is indeed a pendulum. Jacob says that he feels like his life has been a pendulum, swinging between past and present.
As Alice is about to jump in the pond and leave 1999, Colton arrives at the pond. He tells her that he recognizes her as the same Alice from 1974 and asks why she denied it when he asked her about it back then. Alice tells him that she believed it was easier that way. She also tells him that the Alice that will continue to visit 1999 is a previous version of her, someone who has just started time traveling. She tells him that version of her won’t have the answers to all his questions. He asks why the pond brought her back to 1999 again, and she tells him that the reason is the conversation they are currently having. Alice tells him that her visits to 1974 were so special, and Colton watches as she jumps in the pond.
Alice returns home in the present day to tell Kat and Del about her visit. Del can’t believe that Colton knew Alice was a time traveler and questions why he never told her. She thinks there was resentment because Colton had to give up all his dreams, like music, to be with Del.
Elliot receives an envelope in the mail. He opens it and his family ring falls out along with a note. It’s an apology from his father as well as another letter. Jacob comes downstairs and Elliot tells him that the other letter is one from his mom, before she left him as a kid. Jacob says he has an apology of his own to make and walks out.
Alice is working at The Point and Max Goodwin walks in. He tells Alice that he didn’t hate their kiss, but he knows things are complicated with Noah. Alice agrees that it is complicated, but that she didn’t hate it either.
Jacob goes to visit Danny to apologize. Danny asks why he did it. Jacob tells Danny that he didn’t tell him the truth about what happened when they were kids. Jacob tells Danny that he did nothing wrong, and Danny asks Jacob to leave.
Alice finds Kat upstairs going through boxes of Colton’s stuff. Kat finds a box labeled wedding tapes. Inside is a tape labeled “Coyle’s Demo, 1974.” An excited Alice runs out of the room with the demo to find Del. Alice plays the recording for Kat and Del. Included in the recording is the conversation between Colton and Alice in 1974, when Colton is telling Alice about how Del is everything he needs. Alice tells Del that she wasn’t the reason Colton gave up his dream, because she was his dream. Del asks Kat and Alice to take her in the pond to see Colton. They arrive at the pond and all jump in. Kat and Del resurface together, but Alice is nowhere to be found. Alice resurfaces from the pond on her own, and is immediately confronted by Colton, who asks Alice if Jacob fell in the pond.
In the year 2000, we see Colton lying in bed on a pile of papers, including posters of Jacob’s disappearance. Colton goes outside to get the mail, which includes late bills and an envelope from Evelyn Goodwin. Colton arrives at Lingermore and tells Evelyn that he can’t accept her money. Evelyn offers him a drink and they go upstairs to the study. Colton sees the My Katherine painting and now recognizes that she is a woman he has seen before. He realizes that it is his daughter, and that she introduced Jacob as her brother when Colton visited 1814. He quickly leaves to head to the pond where he finds Alice, demanding to know if Jacob fell in the pond. He tells Alice about the connection he made with the painting and Alice asks if he knows who her mom really is. Colton asks if Alice is his granddaughter and Alice nods. He gives her his jacket to warm her. They both break into tears and embrace.
As he and Alice are sitting by the pond, Colton tells Alice about how holding a secret like the pond is a burden, and that the pond stopped working for him after 1974. He tells Alice that he thought the pond didn’t work for his kids because he saw Jacob swimming in it once and warned him to never go back in again. Even though he knows it is wrong, Colton asks Alice to tell him if Jacob ever comes home. Alice tells him that he does, and Colton says that he’s happy he’ll get to see Jacob again. Alice begins to cry, causing Colton to have a flashback of Kat telling him that she lost her father. Colton realizes that he won’t see Jacob again because he passes away before Jacob’s return. He comforts Alice as she cries, telling her that the pond is a curse and a gift. The pond allowed him to play music with his granddaughter in two different eras. Alice says that maybe they can prevent everything that happens if she tells him about the future, but Colton stops her and tells her that she needs to jump in the pond. Even though he never got to know his granddaughter in her time, he is glad he got to know her in his time. He tells Alice that he loves her, and to tell Jacob that he loves him. Alice says she loves him too and hugs him. She jumps in the pond. Colton is about to leave when he quickly turns around and stands on the edge of the pond. He says, “Please take me to my boy,” and jumps in.
Alice resurfaces from the pond crying. She takes off the jacket that Colton gave her and sets it on the ground just outside the pond.
The pond takes Colton to the day of the summer kickoff in 1999. Colton hides behind the barn and watches himself talking to Kat on the porch about all of the fireworks he bought for the summer kickoff and asking Kat to help keep Jacob away from them. Colton then hears Jacob playing in the barn and goes in to see him. He gets to tell Jacob that he loves him and hugs him.
Alice is walking past Elliot’s house in what she believes is the present but then peers in the window and sees herself. She quickly runs back to the pond. Through the window, the Alice that is inside notices a figure running field and goes to chase after it. Alice hides behind a tree as the former version of herself discovers the jacket left behind at the pond. As she calls Kat to tell her about what she found by the pond, Alice pushes her former self into the pond.
In the present day, Casey Goodwin arrives at the Landry home and is greeted by Jacob. Casey immediately admits to being a time traveler since Alice caught Casey red-handed. Casey has found Susanna Augustine’s will and tried to show Kat multiple times but never got the chance. Cyrus Goodwin’s brothers changed the will and covered up Susanna’s. Casey then sought out Sam Bishop for legal advice to see if Susanna’s will would still hold up. Casey suggests that Jacob should use Susanna’s will to keep Louis off his back and urges him to read it. As Jacob reads it, he sees that Susanna left Lingermore to the Landrys. Casey rushes out as Jacob is reading.
As Kat and Del visit 1975, they arrive at the Landry farm just in time for at Del and Colton’s wedding. While there, Del and Kat observe a conversation between Colton and Jasper. Colton is a bit upset that Evelyn didn’t show up for his wedding, but Jasper gives him a gift to cheer him up. It’s Colton’s demo. Del insists she wants to watch from closer and walks off. Fern confronts Kat and says that she wasn’t on the guest list. Kat asks Fern why she calls her Kitty, and Fern says that she loves that nickname. Fern suggests that Kat hasn’t lived that yet, and that she and Fern will cross paths again. Fern walks away singing an odd tune.
Alice returns to the present and runs into Casey on her way back from the pond. Alice tells Casey that she knows the truth, that Alice and Max are Casey’s parents. It turns out that isn’t true, but Casey doesn’t want to break any rules talking about the future.
In 1975, a young Del walks down to aisle. Del weeps as she watches over her wedding. Meanwhile in 1999, Colton cries as he observes the summer kickoff from a distance.
Back in the present, Alice tells Jacob about how she was the one who pushed herself into the pond. Jacob asks Alice if Del has mentioned anything about receiving letters, but Alice know. Del and Kat return from their trip, and Del is emotional and joyful. Jacob says he is glad the past treated her well and says the present will too. He presents Susanna’s will. Alice shares with everyone about how Colton knew everything after Alice’s last visit. Del has a flashback of Colton telling Del he wanted to have dinner with her and tell her everything. This was just before he passed. Kat realizes that Colton tried to tell her that he knew who she was as he was dying.
Kat bursts through Elliot’s door to tell him that she loves him. Elliot apologizes to Kat for putting so much pressure on their relationship and keeping her to an impossible standard. He tells her that he loves her too. Kat apologizes for taking Elliot for granted. They agree to leave each other as they are and kiss. Kat notices the ring on the table and Elliot tells her that his dad returned it, and he will propose when he finds the perfect moment. Kat cries as she tells Elliot that the ring is Susanna’s.
Alice is playing guitar and singing in the barn when she receives a text from Noah. He’s back in Port Haven and wants to catch up with Alice. Del peeks her head into the barn to say hi to Alice. Alice tells Del that she wants to keep dreaming and is going to pick up music again. Del goes inside and sees all the letters she received on the table. Alongside them is a note from Jacob saying that maybe the letters will stop if he disappears. Del receives a call. It’s Sam. Del tells him that she is worried because Jacob is gone. Sam reassures her that it will be okay. Del asks him how he knows that, and he says he just does. We see him overlooking the pond as he says this.
With Kat, Elliot opens the letter from his mom. Elliot realizes his mom is referencing T.S. Eliot in her letter and takes it as a clue. As he goes to get his T.S. Eliot book from his bookshelf, Alice walks in. They fill her in, and Alice has a flashback of meeting a girl in 1974 who was reading T.S. Eliot in The Point. Alice tells them that she thinks that was Elliot’s mom. Elliot realizes the inscription he found on the clock is from the same poem, written in 1936. Elliot is confused how a clock with an inscription that must have happened in 1936 was found in the walls that were put up in the 1920s. They hypothesize that Elliot’s mom time traveled with a Landry. We see a flashback of a man and woman jump in the pond, leaving behind a baby with a note. Someone left the baby at the Landry farm doorstep. Colton finds the baby on the doorstep and calls for Del. Del walks outside, holding a baby. They read the note that the baby is Elliot and bring him inside.
