Kat, Del and Alice are all joined together at the pond in the future. Kat tells the others that she wishes “he was with them.” Alice reminds her that today is a good day and that it’s almost time for the “I do’s.”

Back in the present, Elliot, Kat and Alice storm toward the pond to seek answers about Elliot’s mom. Elliot is hesitant, but Kat and Alice remind him that the clock is a sign, and the pond will take them where they need to be. Sam Bishop watches over as the three of them jump in the pond.

They resurface together, unsure of where the pond has taken them. They see a baby left in a basket adjacent to the pond. Elliot picks up the note inside of the basket and reads it. It is the note that his mother left behind, meaning the baby in front of them is Elliot.

Kat, Elliot and Alice go to find Vic Augustine, but he’s not home. Elliot notices that all his fishing gear is gone, meaning he is out on a fishing trip. Elliot is flustered after realizing his mother decided to leave him when his father was gone.

Meanwhile, Del and Danny are at the Landry home, where Danny informs Del that he saw Jacob at the bus stop that exits town. Sam arrives and offers to help Del go after Jacob. Del and Sam chase after the bus in their truck. Del pulls in front of the bus, signaling for it to pull over.

Kat leaves the basket with baby Elliot outside of the Landry home and quickly rushes off to watch from a distance with Alice and Elliot. Del and Colton take Elliot in but seem to not be surprised that he’s been abandoned. Elliot questions what Del and Colton could have known about his mother.

Back with Del and Sam, Jacob exits the bus, frustrated that they came after him. He explains that he is leaving because he is the reason for the threatening letters Del has been getting to the house. He begs for Del to let him leave and says I love you. She says she loves him back and watches him get back on the bus. Sam comforts Del as the bus drives away.

At the present-day Landry home, Del tells Kat, Elliot and Alice about the letters and Jacob leaving town. Kat suggests that they should report the letters to the police. Del says now is not the time and asks why their clothes are wet. Kat explains their recent trip to the pond, and how they believe Elliot’s mom Tessa time traveled after abandoning him. Del clarifies that she had never considered that Tessa was time-traveling. Elliot asks for them to stop theorizing about his mother. Since it seems she didn’t care about him, he doesn’t want to learn more about her or whoever could have helped her use the pond.

Seven months later, Alice is playing music in the field. Kat approaches and suggests she take a break, offering to drive her into town.

Del is working on digging holes in the yard when Elliot arrives, excitedly looking for Alice. As he approaches the house, he trips in one of the holes Del dug up. He brushes himself off and mentions how he can’t believe that Alice is going to be graduating in two days. Time can be a cruel mistress, and Del is glad they have decided to take a break from the pond. Elliot informs Del of his proposal plan, including a reservation of the gazebo and a musical performance. Kat and Alice arrive. Kat ensures that Elliot is free to join them for dinner, especially since Brady is in town. Elliot says he will see them there, and Kat and Alice head off into town.

As they head into town, Kat can’t believe it’s their last summer in Port Haven together before Alice goes off to college. Alice notices a blue Volkswagen Beetle on the side of the road with a sold sign on it and is disappointed because she’s had her eye on it for a while. Kat quickly changes the subject to her frustration about how Elliot hasn’t proposed yet. Alice jokingly suggests maybe they are the reasons for their boy problems, not the boys themselves.

Alice arrives at The Point, where Noah and Max are both waiting. Alice greets them and gives Noah a kiss. Max begins complaining about how busy planning a fundraiser has been. Alice reminds him that they are giving back to the school that gave so much to them. Noah apologizes for not being able to be at the graduation because of a family reunion. As they continue to decorate The Point for the high school fundraiser, Alice takes out a framed photo of Del and Colton in their cap and gowns.

During a flashback of Colton and Del they sit in the truck bed in the gowns, talking about their future together. They excitedly kiss each other outside of the Landry home.

Back in the present, Del keeps on digging holes. She says to herself, “Where did you put it?”

Brady arrives at the Landrys’ for dinner. He is struggling to contain his excitement for Alice’s next chapter, attending the Hudson Performing Arts School of New York. Brady awkwardly reminds everyone at the table that he is going to pay for Alice’s education, which Elliot calls him out for. Kat, Del and Sam diffuse the tension by offering up a toast. Kat highlights how proud she is of Alice but how hard it will be to say goodbye. Del states that the bond between mother and child is special, and it’s always bittersweet to see your children grow.

At night, Elliot wakes up from a troubling dream, chasing after his mother as she runs toward the pond. She jumps in before he can reach her and looks down to see himself holding a sledgehammer. After waking up, he heads downstairs and fetches the mysteriously inscribed clock, as well as the letter from his mother. He winds the clock and walks away, only to be surprised that it plays a song as it ticks.

Kat jumps into the pond but is unable to time-travel. As she is swimming back out, Alice finds her. Kat comes clean about still trying to use the pond to find out more about Elliot’s mother, even though they all agreed to take a break.

Del continues to dig holes in the yard and finally uncovers and old time capsule that she and Colton buried after their graduation. As she begins to reminisce, a package for Alice gets delivered. Del, Kat and Alice all gather to open the package because it’s from Jacob, who sent it from Toronto. The package contains another copy of the two Alice books from the Landry home. HIs note says that he saw them in a bookstore and thought it was a sign she should take the books into her future.

At the fundraiser, Louis Goodwin comes up to greet the Landrys. Kat steps over to speak to him privately. They bicker over their past with Jacob and the Lingermore Estate before being interrupted by Rita. She asks Louis about his plans to open the Lingermore Estate tunnels and how it could be a great ghost story opportunity for her podcast.

Max steps on stage to announce that their fundraising goal was reached. His father Louis had the highest donation, bidding a large amount on an old box of tapes. Max then introduces Alice to perform on stage. Alice begins playing an original song but quickly stops and changes songs. She then begins to perform the song she sang with Colton in the past, titled “Breathe.”

As she gets ready for graduation, Alice takes a closer look at the books that Jacob sent her. As she begins to investigate, Kat calls her downstairs to leave. Alice tells them that she’s excited for the future but doesn’t want everything to change, which Del and Kat promise her won’t happen. A car approaches the home with a big bow on it. It’s a surprise gift: the blue Volkswagen Beetle that Alice had mentioned she loved.

Brady tells Kat that he is confused why they got Alice a car since she is moving to New York. Kat clarifies it will stay in Port Haven so she can have it when she visits.

Elliot and Kat look over at Max and Alice, and Elliot mentions that he has been there before. Kat disagrees, claiming that Max doesn’t have a thing for Alice.

Del walks outside with the time capsule she dug up. From it, she removes a letter that she wrote in 1975 to read to their child when they graduated. Del begins to read the letter to Alice. After finishing the letter, Del asks Alice to continue the tradition, even though she was unable to do it herself.

After the celebrations, Del shares with Rita and Sam that she feels bad she never shared the letter with Kat. Rita suggests that they should have some fun to lighten up the mood and turns on the radio, which is playing “Tainted Love” by Soft Cell. As the song is playing, Del spaces out and remembers a screaming argument, seeming to have some memory attached to the song.

Alice goes back to Lingermore with Max to retrieve the Landry grad photos they used at the fundraiser. Alice and Max laugh about the graduation Cove party, where Max swam in clothes because he didn’t bring a bathing suit. Max tells Alice that she should have sung her original song at the fundraiser. Alice says she was just nervous, but Max insists that she needs to believe in herself. He frustratedly explains that she’ll be alone soon with nobody to push her, and heads upstairs to get the photos.

While Max is upstairs, Alice notices Louis watching the film that he bought at the auction. Louis shows Alice that the tapes include screen-tests of a scrapped film that was shot in Port Haven in 1925 by one of Louis’s ancestors. Louis excuses himself to take a phone call, and Alice continues to watch the film. She then sees a clip of Fern Landry and is in awe of seeing her ancestor on screen. As she continues to watch, Kat suddenly appears on the film. Realizing what this could expose to Louis, Alice quickly takes the film before comes back. Max and Louis return and Alice quickly leaves, hiding the film behind her bag.

Alice immediately shows the film to Kat and Elliot. Kat begins tracing back her encounters with Fern thus far and has a realization. Kat theorizes that one of the songs Fern sang, which said “65 in 25,” was a message that there is a link to someone who is 65 years old and was in the year 1925. When Kat theorizes she may be talking about Elliot’s mother, Elliot debunks the claim, angrily saying the years don’t add up.

Back in 1975, a flashback shows Fern giving Colton mail from his brother Griffin. Griffin sent back Del and Colton’s wedding invite with a note saying he’ll be at the wedding, plus a locket.

At the Landry home in the present, Del apologizes to Kat for letting her grief get in the way of their relationship. Kat reassures Del that they are together now and that she refuses to think of Jacob as gone. Alice arrives with her time capsule, ready to be buried and eventually be reopened with her future children. It includes a letter she wrote to her future child.

Alice finds a spot for the time capsule near a large rock and starts digging. Her shovel suddenly hits something firm. She uncovers a suitcase and opens it, where she finds an ID with the name Tessa Cooper--Elliot’s mother’s name.

She immediately returns to Del, Kat and Elliot with the discovery. They also find some of Evelyn Goodwin’s tarot cards in the suitcase. Del explains that Tessa and Evelyn were friends. On the ID, Kat notices that Tessa was born in 1961. They originally thought she was born in 1959, meaning that the years now match up for Kat’s previous theory about Fern’s song. Kat believes she goes back to 1925 to find Tessa, who was time traveling.

Also in the suitcase is a photo of Tessa holding baby Elliot. Elliot recognizes the blanket draped around his infant-self in the photo as the same one the clock in the wall was wrapped in. Elliot immediately claims that he wants to jump in the pond.

Elliot and Kat jump in the pond together, with Alice watching. Elliot resurfaces alone. The pond only took Kat. Alice begins panicking, remembering that something seemed wrong when she saw Kat talking to Fern. Alice jumps in the pond to follow Kat.

Elliot returns to Del, upset that the pond wouldn’t take him.

Jacob sits on a bench in Toronto, looking through all the messages Kat has been sending him since he left.

Del finds an old photo of her, Colton and Tessa from around 1975.

Alice finally resurfaces from the pond and is greeted by an elderly Fern Landry. Kat also resurfaces, but she is not with Alice, and is instead greeted by a younger Fern Landry, presumably in 1925.
