In 1976, Colton and Alice approach the house to find Griffin Landry. Alice is hesitant, but just as she considers leaving, Griffin walks out of the front door to greet them. Griffin is excited to see Colton, but Colton immediately confronts him about not being around for him and the rest of the family. Griffin then introduces himself to Alice, who he believes is Del at first. Fern then comes outside and tells everyone how excited she is that Griffin is home. She then says hello to Alice, and jokes that they go way back, but then clarifies that they only met earlier that morning. Griffin watches curiously as Alice leaves the farm.

In the present day, Del sits at the kitchen table with Elliot and Kat. Del then shares that she used to think Griffin and Tessa may have been having an affair. She now questions whether Griffin could have been a time traveler and took Tessa into the pond with him. While the theory could make sense, Kat suggests they take on one thing at a time, and that they should try to track down Griffin. Alice walks in after her visit from the pond and hears the theory. She immediately insists that she should jump back into the pond to find more answers. Del apologizes to Elliot for hesitating to share what she knew about Tessa, but Elliot storms off in frustration.

Upon her return through the pond, Alice hides behind a tree watching Colton, Del and Evelyn playing with Evelyn’s baby. Fern then approaches her and informs her that she’s been gone for two years, and so has Griffin.

Back in the present, Alice is lying in bed listening to her and Colton’s music on vinyl. Kat comes upstairs and begins ranting about how they haven’t been able to make progress on their search for Griffin. Kat suggests Alice should jump in the pond again. Alice doesn’t want to jump in the end because she doesn’t want to face Evelyn. She promised she would be there for her while she was raising her child. Alice excuses herself because she has plans with Noah. Alice verifies to Kat that there is nothing going on between her and Max, and that she is only focused on her relationship with Noah. Before Alice departs, Kat notices the mysterious piece of metal that Alice brought back from Lingermore in 1976. Kat identifies it as a bullet casing, and Alice talks about how Evelyn said Al Capone used to use the Lingermore tunnels. Kat is not surprised to hear that Grayson Goodwin could have ties to a mobster.

Del and Sam are riding horses together in the field. Del shares that Elliot is still not speaking to her. Sam reassures her and suggests that she could live with him since she is always alone at the farm. Suddenly, Del’s horse begins to act strangely as they approach the path that leads to the pond. Sam suggests that maybe the horse doesn’t like water but also mentions that the pond seems like a “special place.”

Alice, Max, and Noah meet up at Noah’s family food truck. Noah shares that he found a great location to open a brick and mortar restaurant. Alice and Max are immediately concerned when they realize it is a 5-hour drive away. Max doubles down on his concern but Alice tells Noah that she supports him. Noah then informs them that he is going to move up there next week, which shocks Alice and Max; they assumed he would wait until summer was over. Alice shrugs off her concern and just says that they are starting long-distance a bit earlier.

Elliot finds Kat at her office and surprises her with the idea to have a weekend getaway at one of his colleague’s cabins at a national park. Elliot says that they should try to not obsess about the past and focus on enjoying the present. She agrees to go.

Alice and Max leave the food truck since Noah has to get back to work. Just as they get into Alice’s car, Alice asks Max what he thinks. Max shares his concern about long-distance but then clarifies that he hopes they can all stay friends and that he supports Alice and Noah.

Alice arrives in 1978 to visit Evelyn. She knocks at the door to Lingermore and Evelyn answers, holding her baby. Alice is glad to see that the baby is still young. Evelyn immediately questions where Alice has been.

When Sam and Del arrive back at Landry farm, Vic Augustine is waiting for them. He angrily asks what they have been telling Elliot about his mother. Del tells Vic that they told him they suspected Tessa left because she was in love with Griffin. Vic angrily storms out.

Kat and Elliot arrive at the cabin and immediately notice its unique decor, including an array of fish hung up on the wall. They also notice that there is no cell service. Kat suggests that they find a blanket to cover up some of the fish decor on the wall and goes outside to bring in more of their belongings. Now alone in the cabin, Elliot pulls a ring out of his pocket and takes a deep breath.

Upstairs in the Lingermore attic, Evelyn cleans up and blames the mess on how much baby Louis likes to play with different toys. Alice apologizes for not being around, but Evelyn reassures her that she has been just fine, especially with how much Colton and Del have helped with Louis.

At the cabin, Kat find a book about New Brunswick during the prohibition era. Elliot reminds Kat that they are there to get away from thinking about the past, but she still cracks open the book. Elliot is working on starting a fire in the fireplace but is having trouble keeping the smoke in check. They decide to give up on the fire and go for a walk. Kat asks how Elliot has been able to drop the search for answers about his mom. Elliot responds by saying that maybe it’s best he doesn’t learn more about his mom. He already thinks of her fondly and doesn’t want to find out more that tarnishes that.

Evelyn and Alice go to Coyle’s to catch up. Evelyn continues to explain that everything is going well but Alice suspects that Evelyn isn’t telling the truth. Eventually Evelyn confesses that once she left Ash, it was difficult. Things got better over time and she is happy now, and she wanted to prove that to Alice. Alice reassures Evelyn that she has nothing to prove and that she is glad she’s happy. The waitress approaches the table to take their order and introduces herself as Tessa.

Still on their walk, Kat and Elliot amble through a lush field next to a beautiful pond. Elliot begins to tell Kat that he can’t wait to keep building a family with her and mentions that he wants a kid of his own one day. He begins to pull out his ring, but Kat is surprised to hear that Elliot may want his own child one day. Before showing it to Kat, Elliot puts the ring away, realizing it may not be the right moment. Both of their phones suddenly start buzzing, as the cell service comes through. They both have several missed calls from Del, and suspect that Vic is back in town.

At Coyle’s, Tessa brings Alice and Evelyn their drinks. Alice asks Tessa if she remembers meeting her a few years back. Tessa says she isn’t sure and Alice remembers that she was only visiting for the summer then, so she decides to ask why Tessa is back. Tessa states that Port Haven holds a special place in her heart. After Alice mentions that her own travels have been unpredictable, Tessa quotes Alice in Wonderland. “If you don’t know where you are going, anywhere will get you there.” Colton arrives and excitedly sits down to join them.

Vic is joined at the Landry kitchen table by Sam and Del. Del decided to invite him over to apologize. Vic suggests they don’t beat around the bush. Del apologizes for making him relive a difficult part of his past. Vic accepts her apology and explains that he tries to focus on the good times of his relationship with Tessa.

Back at Coyle’s, a young man is picking up an order of food and leaves a generous tip for Tessa. Tessa then thanks him, calling him Vic out loud. Alice notices and begins watching the interaction. Vic then asks Tessa if she’d like to grab food with him after she’s off work. She accepts and they both agree it’s a date. Evelyn mentions that ever since Tessa has been in town, Vic’s softer side seems to be coming out. As he is leaving, Colton invites Vic to join them, but he says he needs to go. Evelyn excuses herself so she can go put Louis to sleep. She jokes that she forgives Alice, but she won’t be so forgiving if she disappears for several years again. Alice chuckles along nervously.

After Evelyn leaves, Alice asks Colton how his music has been going. He explains that he hasn’t been able to perform as much because he and Del are planning to start a family and are working on an addition to the Landry house to make space. Colton then asks about Alice’s songwriting, and Alice suggests they leave Coyle’s to have a jam session for inspiration. Colton declines because he wants to get back home to Del because she is under the weather. He suggests they get together soon to play music together. After he leaves, Alice watches Tessa pocketing money from the register. Tessa notices and holds a shushing finger over her lips toward Alice.

At the Landry farm, Vic, Del, and Sam continue their dinner. Vic thanks Del for the amazing food and they begin to reminisce. Vic mentions how amazing Tessa was at bringing people together. Both agree that they tried their best to protect Elliot. Vic asks if Elliot has used the ring to propose yet. Del laughs and tells him it will happen soon, and they pick up their wine for a cheers to their family. Kat and Elliot walk in. Before leaving, Elliot simply tells Vic that he knows where to find him when he’s ready to talk.

In 1978, Alice goes to the Landry farm and sees Colton comforting Del near the fire pit. She overhears Del sharing that they have been trying to have baby of their own for three years and that it’s difficult to be around Louis all the time. Colton promises her it will work out.

Back at Elliot’s, Kat advises Elliot to hear his dad out. Kat then reopens their conversation about expanding their family. She clarifies that the door isn’t closed but they should continue their conversation again another time. Vic arrives and Kat picks up the ripped photo of Tessa with Del and Colton. Kat tells Elliot and Vic she’s going to give them space and leaves with the photo. Kat rushes home and begins staring at the photo alongside the video of Fern’s audition tape for the Port Haven movie. She shows Alice that both Fern and Tessa are wearing the same bracelet, suggesting that they have met in 1925.

Kat jumps in the pond and resurfaces, greeted by Fern in 1925. Kat checks Fern for the bracelet and immediately accuses Fern of lying about not knowing Tessa when she doesn’t find it. Fern promises she doesn’t know Tessa, so Kat begins to think that maybe they haven’t met yet. Fern hands Kat a bag of dry clothes and informs her they have somewhere to be.

Elliot begins questioning his father. Vic reveals that Tessa left Elliot on the Landry front porch after telling him that he wasn’t fit to be a parent. Vic then goes on to explain that he also believes Tessa left to be with Griffin, which is another reason he has also been sour toward the Landrys. Elliot then asks if his mother is dead, and Vic gives Elliot a letter from Tessa, explaining that she doesn’t have much time left to live. Vic then explains this is the letter she sent back when the ring was returned.

At the Landry home, Alice tells Del about her last visit to 1978. She shares that she was able to spend time with Colton and Evelyn. Alice doesn’t mention the specific conversations that she overheard.

In 1925, Fern takes Kat to a mysterious door. Fern knocks and after saying a password, the door opens. They walk downstairs to a secret party in a speakeasy. Fern begins working the room and asks the pianist to begin playing. She suddenly starts performing with song and dance. The crowd gathers and cheers her on. As the song finishes, Kat overhears the Augustine boys talking about “handling someone tonight.”

Vic continues telling Elliot more about his mother. Vic still doesn’t know why Tessa abandoned them. Elliot shows his dad the photo he found of Tessa holding him as a baby. Elliot then asks if Vic knows who was ripped out of the other side of the photo. Unfortunately, he doesn’t, and explains that Tessa always seemed like a riddle to him.

After the party at the speakeasy, Kat tells Fern how amazing she is. Fern says that they are similar and that she knows they are related. Kat is astounded about how openly Fern speaks about the pond. Kat expresses concern about Fern hanging around illegal speakeasies and mentions what she overheard the Augustine boys talking about. Cliff arrives and Fern quickly throws away her drink. He reassures that he’s not there to bust them and cheekily flirts with Fern. He warns Fern and Kat that there is going to be a raid at the speakeasy, so they should leave. Fern decides to head back inside to give the party “a grand finale.” Kat tries to stop her but ultimately follows her inside. Fern begins performing a rendition “Tainted Love” by Soft Cell. Kat quickly stops her and confronts her about singing a song that hasn’t been created yet, meaning she’s interacted from someone else from the future. The police raid the speakeasy. Just as they enter, Kat mentions she feels off and suspects something was put in her drink. She faints.

In the present, Alice is waiting at the pond for Kat since she has been gone for a while. Max finds Alice at the pond and apologizes for judging her relationship with Noah. Max then asks why Alice has never mentioned having a swimming hole on the farm and suggests they go for a swim. Alice declines, excusing it on her freshly straightened hair. Max laughs and grabs Alice hand and jumps. He resurfaces from the pond without Alice at first, but she comes up a couple of seconds later. They swim toward each other somewhat romantically, but the moment passes and they decide to go grab food together.

Vic thanks Elliot for hearing him out and invites him to come stay whenever he’d like. He promises Elliot that he’ll have a happier ending with the ring than he did. They hug. Suddenly, the clock on the mantle begins playing a spooky jingle again. Elliot laughs and tells Vic it’s just a random clock he found in the wall. He even mentions that it’s broken and only chimes at 11:11. Vic laughs and mentions that Tessa always used to mention making a wish at 11:11. Vic seems to excuse it as coincidence but tells Elliot to make a wish.

On the porch, Del is trying to reach Kat’s phone but is getting sent to voicemail. She says to herself, “Where have you disappeared to this time, Katherine?”

Kat wakes up from fainting, only to find herself behind bars.
