Nick and Kat resurface from the pond together. When Kat finds a bag of dry clothes, she confirms the pond took them to the right place.

While leaving the house, Alice sees Del’s horse running without Del, and immediately Alice is worried.

Del is lying on the ground, unconscious. She awakens to a vision of Colton. He helps her up and leads her out of the woods. Alice arrives and takes her back to the house as Del smiles at the imaginary Colton.

Kat and Nick arrive at the Landry home in 1925. Still excited, Kat reminds Nick of their goal to get Fern to admit she knows Tessa. They head inside to find the 1925 version of the almanac.

Alice and Del make it back home in the present. Sam knocks on the door and is relieved that Del is okay. Julian also appears with a bottle of wine. He didn’t realize Del had company and offers to come back later. Del and Sam ask him to pour them glasses of wine.

In 1925, while Kat locates the almanac, Nick is upstairs finding clothes so he can blend in. When they are about to leave with the almanac, Cliff walks in. Kat explains they were just there to pick up some of Fern’s belongings and swiftly leaves with Nick before Cliff can become suspicious.

Back at the present-day Landry home, Julian offers to help keep an eye on Del. Sam insists that he can take care of it, but Del tells him that it’s not his job anymore. She asks to be alone and both men depart. She has another vision of Colton, sitting across the table from her. She tells Colton that he isn’t real, but he says it feels real to him.

Kat and Nick arrive at the speakeasy in 1925 to find Fern. Kat notices the Auggie boys are there and quickly turns to leave. Nick suggests he should stay there to keep an eye on the Auggie boys while Kat searches for Fern. He approaches them to share a drink, and Kat heads out without them noticing her.

Kat heads to the archives where Fern lived to look for her. She notices the Alice book, which has a note indicating it was gifted to Fern from her Auntie Coop. Kat believes that Auntie Coop could be an alias for Tessa Cooper. Grayson Goodwin suddenly appears and asks why Kat is there. Kat explains she is looking for Fern, who asked her to fetch the almanac. Grayson takes a closer look at the book and asks if Kat is in it, since Fern mentioned she was a relative. After a brief hesitation, Kat describes their relationship as friends that are so close they feel like family. Grayson continues questioning Kat about who she really is, even suggesting she is working for Cliff. Kat pleads her innocence but asks Grayson why he would care even if she did work for Cliff. He just cares about Port Haven’s reputation and isn’t involved in bootlegging. Grayson then shows Kat the poster for Fern’s film. It is titled, “Cassandra of the Lighthouse.” Kat comments that Cassandra is Grayson’s late sister’s name. Shocked that Kat knows about his sister, Grayson suggests he and Kat should get to know each other better because Fern has been sharing his secrets with her. He pulls out two glasses so they can have a drink together.

Elliot returns from Toronto and Alice immediately goes to talk to him at his house. Elliot tells Alice that he failed to bring Jacob home. She advises Elliot to not tell Del about his trip, especially because she got in an accident. Alice then mentions that Kat and Nick jumped in the pond together. He is initially shocked, so Alice shows Elliot the almanac to explain everything they have learned. Elliot realizes that Tessa was trapped there and insists on going in the pond himself to bring her back.

Back in 1925, Grayson tells Kat more about his relationship with Fern. Kat learns that Fern had a brother that died in war. Grayson is surprised when he finds out that Kat doesn’t know about Auntie Coop. He mentions that she isn’t around much anymore because she travels a lot. Grayson asks Kat to leave when the phone starts ringing. He explains it’s a business call from Hollywood. Kat sees herself out. Still in the hallway, Kat overhears Grayson yelling on the phone. He mentions that he has “taken care” of Fern and is demanding whoever is on the other line to get rid of someone.

Kat returns to the speakeasy to retrieve Nick. Nick is dancing and singing with the Auggie boys. He notices Kat is back and politely excuses himself to leave. The Auggie boys give him a flask for his travels. Outside of the speakeasy, Kat reprimands Nick for not taking things seriously. Kat insists they get back on track. While walking on the street, Nick takes a sip from the flask. Kat notices and tries to pull it away from them. Cliff arrives, catching them red-handed.

Alice and Elliot jump in the pond. They aren’t immediately sure what era the pond has taken them to yet. When they hear a voice in the forest, they follow it. It’s Evelyn, who is playing in the woods with Louis. She is telling him the tale of the White Witch. Tessa then comes out in a white dress and starts playing with him. Elliot is in disbelief at the sight of his mother.

In 1925, Kat and Nick find themselves in prison. While Kat is stressed, Nick pulls out a piece of paper. He was able to secure directions to the Auggie boys’ hideout, where they make their rum and distribute it. He also learned that the Auggie boys call their boss “The Big Fish.” While Kat is impressed with Nick’s findings, she begins to worry that Fern is trapped at the Auggie boys’ hideout.

In 1979, Alice and Elliot follow Tessa, Evelyn, and Louis to the Landry farm. Evelyn goes to fetch Del for a picnic at the Augustine home. Holding back tears, Colton informs them it’s not a good time. Evelyn quickly understands and reminds Colton to be strong for Del. Alice insists she needs to stay longer and tells Elliot they’ll meet back up later.

In 1925, Cliff returns to the prison to check on Kat and Nick. He jokes that he is excited to see Fern when she comes to bail them out. Kat mentions that she might be in danger and won’t be coming. Cliff’s mood flips, immediately worrying about Fern. He asks if Grayson did something to her. Realizing that Cliff is already suspicious of Grayson, Kat offers to help him catch Grayson in the act and save Fern. Cliff agrees and releases them from the cell. He warns them to avoid drinking more alcohol, in case it’s poisonous.

Back in 1979, Elliot watches Tessa and Evelyn’s picnic from a distance. Evelyn brings out her tarot cards to read Tessa’s future. The first card is the Knight, which Tessa connects to Vic. The next card is the Empress. Evelyn explains it means fertility. Tessa mentions that she is not sure she wants kids. Evelyn explains that motherhood is the greatest gift and that Tessa has the ability within herself to raise a child. Elliot smiles when he hears Tessa say she can’t wait to experience the happiness that Evelyn is talking about.

In the present day, Julian stops by to check in on Del. He compliments Del’s honey and comments that she seems to excel at everything she does. Del jokes that Julian doesn’t seem to know her well. He immediately says that he wants to get to know her well. He asks if Del feels the same about him. She mentions she’s had some butterflies for him. He offers for Del to join him on a work trip to Stratford. Del mentions that she is still trying to figure out what feelings are real versus those that are easy. Julian suggests that things can be real and easy at the same time and holds Del’s hand. She freezes and excuses herself to go check on her horse, Lightning.

In the stable, the horse takes a step back when Del arrives. She suddenly sees a vision of Colton. She tells him that he gave up so much to join her life, and she isn’t sure if she’s ready to do the same for Sam or Julian. Colton reminds her that they always met in the middle and were building a life for their whole family. A vision of Jacob then runs across the stable, laughing. Colton gives Del a kiss on the cheek and says, “tag you’re it!” Del laughs and runs after Colton and Jacob.

In 1979, Alice is hiding behind the house as Del is watering the plants outside. Colton comes out to check on her. She insists she is okay and she is just going to focus on the garden, because it seems to be the only thing she can grow. Colton suggests removing the porch swing because it might serve as a reminder. Del wants him to keep it there and insists she will be fine. Colton heads inside. Del takes a seat on the swing and sheds a tear while holding her belly.

In the present, Sam stops by the house to check on Del. She isn’t back yet from the stable, and Julian explains she went to check on Lightning. Sam corrects Julian because Del’s horse is named Stormy. Julian insists she called the horse Lightning. Sensing something is off, Sam rushes off to find Del.

Del is wandering in the corn fields, still playing tag with the imaginary Colton and Jacob. Sam frantically searches through the corn field. After Del suddenly passes out, Sam finds her and tries to wake her up. Sam carries Del home, who isn’t fully unconscious but is visibly dazed.

Sam comes upstairs to check on Del, who is resting in bed. He explains that the doctors concluded she has a concussion. She insists she is fine and Sam leaves her to rest.

In 1979, Evelyn goes inside to check on baby Louis. Still outside with the tarot cards laid out, Tessa takes the Knight and Empress cards and hides them in her dress before going inside. Elliot hops the fence to watch from closer. Vic pulls into the driveway in his truck and confronts Elliot. Elliot explains he got lost looking for the Landry farm. Before leaving, Elliot congratulates Vic on his engagement. Vic thanks him and tells him how lucky he feels. He then tells Elliot about his plan to start a family with Tessa in the future. He tells Elliot he would love to have a son. Elliot holds back tears and advises Vic to hold on to that love for as long as he can. Vic tells him he plans on loving Tessa forever. Elliot leaves with a huge smile on his face.

In 1925, Kat and Nick are following the directions to find the Auggie boys’ hideout. Nick then tells Kat about some of the history of bootlegging that he picked up while working summers on the ship. That’s why he tipped off Cliff that the cove is where some of the shady business might be happening. They reach the hideout. Hidden, they overhear the Auggie boys arguing about their production. One of them insists they need to produce more, since Capone is demanding higher volume, while the other is worried it will affect the quality of the liquor.

In her dreams, Del is sitting on the porch swing with Jacob. He runs off to play tag, and Colton comes outside. Del tells Colton that she thought she lost both him and Jacob again. Alice wakes her up to check if she is okay. Del insists she is fine. Alice tells her that she doesn’t have to be fine all the time. Alice tells Del that she went back to 1979. Del realizes that Alice knows about her miscarriage. She promises they will talk about it when she feels better. Alice walks back out into the hallway and dials her phone. She leaves Jacob a voicemail, begging him to come home.

In 1925, Kat and Nick are still outside the hideout. They overhear the Auggie boys talking about Grayson sending away Fern. They even mention that there is going to be trouble when Auntie Coop returns. Nick sneezes and the Auggie boys turn their head. Nick reveals himself, hoping he can play it off. The Auggie boys approach him happily to greet him and notice Kat. They warn him what happens to double-crossers and chase after Kat and Nick, who begin running away.

When Kat and Nick make it back to the farm, Fern is outside. Kat is relieved that she is okay but confronts her about knowing Tessa this whole time. Fern mentions that Auntie Coop predicted someone would come looking for her one day. Kat warns Fern that they are coming after Coop. The Auggie boys arrive in their car and jump out to chase after Kat and Nick. They make it to the woods. Kat is just in front of Nick and jumps into the pond, urging Nick to hurry. One of the Auggie boys suddenly intercepts Nick and begins fighting him. The other goes to Kat and tries to drown her in the pond. Nick fights him off and the pond begins pulling her in, without Nick. Fern arrives and begs the brothers to let them go. They tell Fern they have a job to do and throw Nick into the pond. Nick grabs Kat’s hand while she is still underwater.

Del continues to dream about spending time with Colton and Jacob. Colton reminds Del that she can’t stay forever, but she says she can stay as long as she wants. Alice goes to check on Del, but she isn’t waking up. She begins to cry but suddenly Jacob walks in. He tries to wake her up. In her dream, Colton tells Del that her son is the reason she can’t stay. Jacob begs Del to wake up. She hears him through her dream and awakens. Kat arrives and sees Del and Jacob embracing.

Later, Del explains to Julian that she won’t be joining him in Stratford. She wants to keep resting and spending more time with Jacob. He understands and tells Del he got caught up in what things could have looked like for them. Nick thanks Kat for the trip to the pond and shares the good news that he finally closed on the house he was buying in Port Haven. He is leaving for now but will be back in a month with his wife, Claire. He and Julian leave together.

Kat, Elliot, Del and Jacob are all inside the house. Kat thanks Elliot for bringing Jacob home and warns Jacob that there are a lot of pond trips to catch up on. Jacob thanks Elliot and explains he was already on his way home when he got Alice’s voicemail begging him to come back.

Kat apologizes to Elliot for not bringing back Tessa. They both agree that at least they’ve confirmed she is there in 1925. Kat suggests they keep jumping in the pond until they can bring her back. Elliot insists that the pond can wait, and that Kat needs to stay home to spend time with her family. On his way out, Elliot grabs Kat’s key to the Herald.

He begins going through the archives on his own, looking for more clues. He gets a text from Kat asking where he is. He ignores it and continues searching for answers.
