In the present day, Del goes out to the porch to comfort Elliot. She tells him to stay hopeful about Alice and Kat finding answers about his mom. Elliot thanks Del for her support and sets off to find his father for more information.

As Elliot walks away, Del has a flashback of a teen Elliot leaving the house. She is sitting out in the yard with Colton, and Elliot says goodbye as heads home. Del asks Colton if they should have fought harder to keep him as their own after he was left on their porch as a baby, especially since she believes there is more to the story of Tessa leaving. Colton reassures Del that they are upholding their promise to love and protect him.

In 1925, Kat emerges from the pond and is greeted by Fern. Fern tells Kat that she never believed her father about the pond being magic. Kat informs Fern that she is looking for Tessa Augustine, who Fern has never heard of, but immediately describes the Augustines as rats. Kat introduces herself, and Fern gives her the nickname Kitty Kat.

Separately, Alice climbs out of the pond and is also welcomed by Fern, but this time it is the summer of 1976. Alice is expecting to be with Kat, but Fern informs her that she is the only one who came out of the pond. Alice looks back, wondering if she should return to the water, but Fern reminds her that the pond always has its reasons for sending someone. Fern informs Alice that Colton and Del are out of town visiting Del’s family.

Back with Kat in 1925, Fern tells her that she has never time-traveled before. She shares that she is only focused on the present and the future, not the past. While walking toward the Landry home, Fern whispers something to herself about Kat not being the “one” because she is a girl. Their walking trajectory gradually turns away from the home, which Kat is confused by. Fern informs her that she moved out of the home and put the neighbor in charge of renting it because she is becoming a modern city girl.

Soon a truck approaches and Fern grab their attention to ask for a ride. She introduces the two men in the truck to Kat; their names are Percy and Moe Augustine. Fern asks them if they have any relatives named Tessa, to which they say no. Kat and Fern hop into the truck bed and ride it into town.

Meanwhile, in 1976, Alice is walking along the road when Evelyn passes by in her red Corvette. She stops and is happily surprised to see Alice. Alice notices a ring on her finger and Evelyn tells them that they have a lot to catch up on. They get back in the car and head into town together.

Evelyn drops Alice off at Coyle’s, excusing herself to run a quick errand. Alice is greeted by Jasper, who kindly offers her a welcome-back milkshake. Alice asks Jasper if he remembers a girl named Tessa, which doesn’t ring any bells to him. He then tells Alice how much they have missed her and that unfortunately Del and Colton aren’t in town because of tricky times with Del’s parents.

In the present day, Elliot sits on his couch, staring at the photo of his mother. The mysterious clock on his mantle begins playing the same song as it strikes 11:11. He gets up to answer a knock at the door. It’s Del, who asks him if he’s found his father yet. Unfortunately, Elliot has been unable to reach him since he is still on his honeymoon. Del advises Elliot the best thing to do is to keep busy to distract himself, and she has something he can help with to get him out of the house.

Back at Coyle’s in 1976, Evelyn returns and joins Alice and Jasper. Alice begins flipping through the music book and stops at “By the Light of the Moon.” She tells them that the songs she learned in 1974 have been a huge inspiration to her own songwriting. Jasper hands Alice the sheet to a different song called “Five Went In,” and Evelyn explains how it’s about the explosion under Lingermore in 1926. Jasper and Evelyn ask to hear one of Alice’s songs and Evelyn hands her a guitar. Alice informs them that her songs aren’t ready and that she’d prefer to try singing “Five Went In.” As she begins to sing the song, Colton arrives. Evelyn, Colton and Alice all hug.

Back in 1925, Fern takes Kat to her office at The Herald. She got a job in town as a journalist, writing for the paper. Fern informs Kat that there is a big party happening, and that it may be her best way to find Tessa. Tessa offers to let Kat borrow a dress, so Kat suggests they head back to Fern’s apartment. To Kat’s surprise, Fern reveals that she lives in the office by pulling a Murphy bed from the wall. They begin to look through Fern’s collection of dresses.

Once again in the present, Del brings Elliot to the Landry barn to do some work. Elliot then tells Del about how he went into the pond to see Colton again and help him put in the electricity in the barn for his younger self. Del then asks Elliot if his plan to propose to Kat has been delayed because the chaos of the pond has resumed. Elliot clarifies that he couldn’t be more excited to marry Kat but wants to wait for the perfect moment. Del warns him not to overthink it and offers to take him out for a drink after he is done working in the barn.

Back at the Herald in 1925, a man enters the office as Kat and Fern are going through dresses. Fern quickly puts on a robe to cover up and sassily greets the man. He introduces himself as Cliff and is looking for the editor regarding rental ads in the paper. After a flirty exchange between Cliff and Fern, Kat steps in and mentions that the Landry farm is available to rent. Fern quickly shuts down Kat and suggests that Cliff returns tomorrow when her boss, Grayson Goodwin, is back. Kat is surprised to hear that Fern works for Grayson Goodwin, and Fern informs Kat that he is the most influential man in town and just happens to be hosting the party that evening.

After they arrive at Lingermore, Kat asks Fern about Grayson, who returned from the war and rebuilt Lingermore after it was used as a hospital. She hands Kat a martini and mentions that prohibition doesn’t exist there, and that even though a new temperance inspector is set to arrive in Port Haven, he’ll quickly learn the how things work there.

Kat and Fern walk into a room where “Phantom of the Opera” is playing, before it had even been released in Hollywood. Grayson introduces the producer to the crowd and announces that he will be shooting a movie in Port Haven. They laugh about how silent films remain the future and they don’t feel threatened by the “talkies.” Grayson notices Fern in the crowd and introduces her to everyone as the lead in the film, titled “Cassandra in the Lighthouse.” The film is a love story about a woman who lives in a lighthouse and falls in love with a sailor. Fern reveals to the crowd that the film ends with a twist, where the sailor dies from falling from the lighthouse. When they return to the party, Fern introduces Kat to Grayson.

In ’76, Evelyn, Alice and Colton arrive at Lingermore. There is loud music playing, and Evelyn mentions that every day at Lingermore is a party now. Evelyn introduces Colton and Alice to her husband Ash, who fails to impress them. Ash speaks to the group about poetry, and once again Alice and Colton are confused as to why everyone admires him. Evelyn then talks about how traveling made her feel more worldly and wise. Ash tells Colton he doesn’t know how he can handle the monotony of small-town life and love. He asks Colton about his music career and cockily mentions that Port Haven is decades behind the music scene in Europe. To break up the tension, Evelyn suggests they go explore the tunnels underground the estate.

At the 1925 party, Grayson pauses “Phantom of the Opera” and introduces Fern to the crowd. The piano begins playing and Fern sings. Kat watches Fern in awe but is distracted by Grayson reprimanding Percy and Moe Augustine off to the side. Just as she finishes her performance, Grayson get down on one knee and proposes to Fern with a large emerald ring. Fern says yes and they kiss while the crowd applauds.

In 1976, the group is exploring the underground tunnels with flashlights. Alice and Colton find themselves away from the crowd, finally with the chance to catch up. Colton asks Alice if she remembers about the time-travel stuff he told her about. She says yes, and Colton informs her that he was lying about it. Alice goes along with it. They meet up with the group as they reach a dead end. Evelyn begins telling everyone that they are at the site of the explosion, where five went in and only four came out, and that Al Capone was involved. Alice asks Evelyn who lived at Lingermore then, and learns that Grayson Goodwin, Evelyn’s grandfather, was living there at the time of the explosion. Evelyn is unsure if Grayson was aware of what was going on at the time. As the group turns around to head back, Alice picks up a mysterious piece of metal that she steps on.

Kat finds Fern and Grayson outside and congratulates them on their engagement. When it’s just the two of them, Kat asks Fern if she was expecting to be proposed to. Fern doesn’t answer directly but seems happy that it happened. Kat expresses concern about seeing Grayson speaking to the Augustines, noticing that they were paying Grayson for something. Fern laughs it off as related to the alcohol trade. Fern reminds Kat she is meant to be looking for Tessa. Fern whistles loudly, grabbing everyone’s attention. She asks if there are any Tessas around, to which everyone nods “no.”

In the present, Del and Elliot are at the bar for a drink when Elliot asks about Tessa. Del mentions that she didn’t know Tessa very well, and before finding out Kat was the one who put Elliot at their doorstep, she believed Tessa wanted them to take him in. The bartender arrives at their table and asks how Jacob is doing, but Del hasn’t heard from him from a while. The bartender tells Del that he helped Jacob get a job at a bar in Toronto. Del finishes her glass of wine after hearing this.

The party continues in 1925, with Kat and Fern dancing together. Their party is interrupted as a horde of prohibition officers enter to break it up. They quickly ditch their drinks and flee.

Back upstairs at Lingermore in 1976, Ash is performing slam poetry for everyone while playing a bongo. Colton quickly gets up and leaves, sick of hanging around Ash. Alice and Evelyn quickly rush after him. Colton tells Evelyn that Ash is taking advantage of her kindness, but Evelyn is convinced that Ash is destined to be a brilliant poet. She tells Colton that he doesn’t know her anymore, and he leaves. Alice goes to comfort Evelyn, who is questioning everything about Ash and has been feeling like her marriage is falling apart. She then tells Alice that the errand she ran earlier was a doctor’s appointment, which confirmed she is pregnant. Alice reassures Evelyn that she will be an amazing mother, whether it’s alone or within her marriage. Alice promises to return soon to check on Evelyn.

Kat and Fern are walking back toward the pond after the party when a car approaches. The car stops and it is Cliff, who visited the Herald earlier. He tells them that he successfully rented out the Landry home. He formally introduces himself as the town’s new temperance inspector and offers to give them a ride. As they head to his car, a flask falls out of Kat’s dress. Cliff agrees to let it go after Fern tells him that Kat is a time traveler, which makes him laugh. They all head toward the Landry farm together.

Alice catches up with Colton, who is playing his guitar outside on his truck bed. She tells Colton she agrees about not liking Ash but encourages him to stay supportive of Evelyn. They continue catching up and Colton asks to hear one of Alice’s original songs. She originally declines, but Colton reminds her that there is no judgement. Alice begins to perform an original for Colton.

At the bar in the present day, Del admits she believed Tessa left Elliot at their doorstep so they could take him in, and she was excited at the idea of becoming his mom. She tells him she will be honored to officially become his mother when he marries Kat. Elliot agrees but mentions that he wishes he could have asked both Del and Colton for Kat’s hand in marriage.

After Alice finishes her song, Colton applauds. He tells her the song is good but still feels like it’s not fully her own. He encourages her to face how she feels and write from her heart.

Fern and Kat make it to the pond in 1925. Fern hopes they’ll meet again, and Kat asks if Fern can keep an eye out for Tessa. Kat mentions that she may go by her maiden name, Tessa Cooper. Fern’s expression changes as Kat jumps into the pond.

At home, Del gazes upon the ripped photo of herself, Tessa and Colton when they were younger. She has a flashback to Colton reminding her to keep something related to Tessa a secret. He takes the photo from her hand, rips it, and throws half in the fire.

Kat returns to the present day and informs Elliot and Del that she didn’t find Tessa. She recounts her time with Fern in 1925, and how she got engaged to Grayson Goodwin. Kat questions if she is part Goodwin. Elliot is upset that there is no new information about Tessa but suggests maybe it’s for the best. Del interrupts and tells him that she made a pact with Colton, but some promises have an expiration date. She reveals the ripped photo of her with Colton and Tessa.

Alice is getting ready to head back to the pond to return to the present day. Suddenly, a motorcycle rushes past her and Colton, heading to the Landry home. They hop in Colton’s truck to follow the bike. When they arrive at the Landry home, the motorcycle is parked outside. Colton tells Alice that the motorcycle belongs to his brother, Griffin Landry.

Back in the present-day Landry home, Elliot asks who was torn out of the photo. Del tells Elliot that she is unsure about where Tessa wound up, but she may have an idea of who may have taken her there.
