The critically acclaimed series has been praised right out of the gate, with Parade calling it “…an intriguing generational family mystery with unexpected twists…” while TV Fanatic dubbed the series “…an instant classic, an unexpected delight ushering in a welcome new era for Hallmark Channel series programming,” and Southern Living enthused, “'The Way Home' is unlike anything I’ve seen on Hallmark before. A riveting, rich, layered story that grabs you right from the start and won’t let go.”
“The press and our audience have enthusiastically embraced 'The Way Home' from the first episode making the decision to renew the series an easy one,” said Lisa Hamilton Daly, Executive Vice President, Programming, Hallmark Media. “We’re thrilled to be able to continue the journey of the Landry family and can’t wait for fans to see what’s next.”

Sadie Laflamme-Snow (“The Apprentice”) has been cast in “The Way Home,” the network’s new, original primetime series set to premiere in 2023 on Hallmark Channel.
Laflamme-Snow plays 15-year-old Alice Hastings, who is none-too-thrilled when her mother Kat (Chyler Leigh, “Super Girl,” “Grey’s Anatomy”) moves them from Minneapolis back to Kat’s childhood home in the small, Canadian farm town of Port Haven, New Brunswick. Alice has never met her grandmother Del (Andie MacDowell, “Maid,” “Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove”), as she and Kat have been estranged for more than two decades following a series of lifechanging events. As Alice tries to come to grips with the end of her parents’ marriage and reluctantly acclimates to her new surroundings, she happens upon a surprising path that will lead her to answers about her family’s past she didn’t know she was looking for.
“We’re so pleased to have Sadie Laflamme-Snow as the youngest member of the Landry women in ‘The Way Home,’” remarked Laurie Ferneau, Senior Vice President, Development, Hallmark Media. “In her, we’ve found the perfect complement to Andie MacDowell and Chyler Leigh, and we can’t wait to see these three talented actresses help us bring the series to life.”
Laflamme-Snow is a Toronto-based graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada and was selected as a finalist for WBTV’s Actors in Training Program last year. Recent credits include roles in television movies, the lead in the Netflix animated series “Unicorn Academy,” a lead role in the independent feature Cascade, and a starring role in the upcoming season of the series “Slasher” for Shudder.

Chyler Leigh (“Supergirl,” “Grey’s Anatomy”) has been cast in “The Way Home,” the network’s new, original primetime series slated to begin production later this month for a 2023 premiere on Hallmark Channel.
Leigh plays Kat Landry, who moved away from her small, Canadian farm town of Port Haven many years ago following a family tragedy, and remains estranged from her mother Del (Andie MacDowell) to this day. With her marriage coming to an end and having just been laid off from her job, Kat decides to return home after receiving an unexpected letter from Del urging her to come back. Although her 15-year-old daughter Alice is none-too-thrilled, Kat and her daughter arrive at her family’s farm, though the reunion isn’t what Kat had envisioned. As the three generations of women slowly work on finding their footing as a family, they embark on an enlightening – and surprising – journey none of them could have imagined.
“Chyler Leigh and Andie MacDowell are the perfect mother-daughter pairing for our new series, ‘The Way Home,’” said Lisa Hamilton Daly, Executive Vice President, Programming, Crown Media Family Networks. “We at Hallmark Channel cannot wait for her to grace our screens as a member of this cast.”
Hallmark Channel has greenlit an all-new, original primetime series “The Way Home,” an intergenerational drama set to begin production this summer in Ontario, Canada. The series will premiere on Hallmark Channel in 2023. The show is part of Crown Media’s commitment to developing quality programming that will resonate with viewers. The series is executive produced by the renowned mother-daughter team of Heather Conkie (“Heartland,” “Port Hope”) and Alexandra Clarke (“Heartland,” “Hudson”).
Andie MacDowell (“Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove”) reunites with Hallmark Channel to star in it.
MacDowell plays Del, matriarch of the Landry family and a pillar of the close-knit community of her small, Canadian farm town. She and her daughter Kat have been estranged from each other following tragic events that left their family forever changed and prompted Kat to move away. When Kat unexpectedly returns many years later with her teenage daughter whom Del has never met, the three generations of women embark on an enlightening journey to find their way back to each other and learn important lessons about their family’s past.
