Henry Winkler Interview - Home & Family

Henry Winkler
Henry Winkler has been collecting awards left and right for his role on HBO’s “Barry.” He is also a New York Times Best-selling author with a new book titled, “Alien Superstar.” The book follows a young alien who lands on a movie studio backlot after being sent to Earth by his grandmother. There are positive messages to kids woven into the story to help overcome bullying and body issues.

Henry is no stranger to backlots from his time as an actor on “Happy Days” to directing his own projects. He also recounts the day he worked with Robin Williams for the first time on "Happy Days." Ironically Robin was playing an alien named Mork.

Inspirational Pencils
A school teacher found inspiration from a student after borrowing pencils from him. Each of the student’s pencils had a kind and inspiring message from his mom, including “you are important” and “follow your dreams.” The student wanted to share these pencils with his classmates, so they could feel good as well.

Debbie and Cameron encourage everyone to try this kind gesture and make inspirational pencils for their kids with messages like, “give someone a smile.”

Fall Rose Care - Home & Family

Fall Rose Care
Inspired by “The Good Witch: Curse from a Rose” premiering Saturday, October 19 at 8pm/7c on Hallmark Channel, Shirley shares how to protect your beautiful roses during the Fall and Winter months.

If you are living in a milder climate, like Southern California, you can grow roses all year-long, but you still need to take care of them. Be sure to remove dead or broken stems and treat your plant with a fungicide if you see yellowing leaves.

If you are in colder climate, like New Jersey, Shirley suggests you stop fertilizing the plant after August. At the first hard frost, place soil on the root area. Soon after you will need to insulate your plant.
