Sara Rue
Actress Sara Rue visits Home & Family to talk about her new Hallmark Channel Original Movie, “True Love Blooms,” where she is also the executive producer! In the movie, she plays an urban gardener who runs a community garden and makes a love connection with a handsome developer played by Jordan Bridges. She also discusses growing up in New York City and her parents running their own community garden. You can catch “True Love Blooms,” Saturday, April 6th at 8/7c.
Buttermilk Biscuit Strawberry Shortcakes
Owner of Charm City Cakes, Duff Goldman is back in the kitchen making buttermilk biscuit strawberry shortcakes. He says you want the biscuit dough to be almost falling apart because that means it will fall apart in your mouth when it comes to time to eat. After the biscuits are done baking, he layers them with strawberry ice cream, fresh strawberries, vanilla crème fraiche and a homemade whipped cream.
Microchipping
Jason Gasparik sits down with Debbie and Cameron to share his new mission, making sure every lost pet finds their way home. He explains that tens of millions of cats and dogs are lost every year and only 6 out of ten pets have their microchips registered. He started a Facebook page “Register Their Chip,” to encourage people to register their microchips for their pets and has started GoFundMe campaign to help those who can’t afford to microchip their pets.
Baby Bird’s Nest Frames
Ken Wingard is taking inexpensive plastic frames and updating their look. Before making this DIY, he spray paints the frames to give them a vibrant color. He goes to the craft store to pick up styrofoam eggs and small nest and attaches them to the frames with hot glue. When done, he uses ribbon to hang on the wall with a thumbtack.

Actress Christy Carlson Romano is introducing you to stress-free ways to bring spring into your home with the help of Balsam Hill. Today, she is showing off Balsam Hill’s outdoor Meadow Foliage Collection, which Christy loves because they are low maintenance and add such beautiful curb appeal. The colors are vibrant and don’t fade in the sun because they have UV protection. She also shows you the realistic indoor houseplants from Balsam Hill, as well.
Spring Picnic
Celebrity chef Jamika Pessoa is in the kitchen putting together the perfect spring picnic with an Italian pressed sandwich and lemon herb potato pasta salad. Before getting started, she shares her life motto: find a reason every single day to celebrate! She calls her sandwich recipe “life changing” and recommends starting with ciabatta or focaccia to hold all the ingredients. Avoid sandwich toppings that have a lot of moisture to avoid the sandwich from becoming soggy. She avoids using mayonnaise in the potato pasta salad so you do not have to worry about eating it in the sun.

Towanda jokes that it was Michael who named her as a baby, an arrangement made by her parents because he could not get a dog. They also discuss some of their favorite moments on the reality series, like the time that Traci entered charm school.
