Garry Marshall Interview
Iconic producer, writer and director Garry Marshall visits Home & Family to talk about his career. Matt and Cristina show a montage of clips from some of his most famous television shows and also a scene from “Pretty Woman.” Garry shares memories from the days of “Laverne and Shirley” when he cast his sister Penny Marshall for the role of Laverne. He also shares the original ending for “Pretty Woman” which was quite dark, which of course was changed ultimately to become a happy ending. He discusses his new feature film “Mother’s Day” which is in theaters now, and shares a clip from the movie with the audience.
BBQ Ribeye Steaks
Matt Iseman is on the show to demonstrate his barbecue skills by preparing Spice Rubbed Grilled Rib-Eye Steak. Matt confides this is his favorite cut of meat because it has the most fat, and thus the most flavor. To prep, first let the meat come to room temperature for at least thirty minutes. Next, coat the meat lightly with olive oil and rub in the spice mixture which includes a surprising ingredient - espresso. Cook the steak for about a total of eight minutes for medium rare- the key is to rotate it on the grill every couple of minutes for varying grill marks.
