Materials

  • Twine
 Balloons
  • Heavy Starch
  • Tweezers
  • Roasting Pan
  • Water
  • Rubber gloves
  • Plastic cups

STEPS:
1.    Blow up some balloons to desired size and tie off

2.    Pour liquid heavy starch into a wide deep pan

3.    Roll the balloons in the starch liquid. Cover the balloon

4.    Wrap the twine around the balloons in crisscross patterns

5.    Roll the wrapped balloons in the starch again

6.    Set on plastic cups to dry

7.    Pop balloon and pull out balloon pieces

8.    Stack in jars, bowls or hang

TIPS:

1.    Use heavy string, twine or regular knitting yarn

2.    Stop adding string when it gets too heavy and begins to slide off the balloon

3.    Add glitter or paint to the starch for effects

4.    Liquid starch is available at the grocery store.

5.    Twine, string and yarn are available at most craft stores

6.    Add another layer after the first one dries to create multi-colored balls
