Ken Wingard is showing you how to turn an old tie into a useful sunglass case.

Materials

  • Necktie
  • Velcro dots
  • Sewing machine
  • Needle and thread

Directions

1. Snip the thread on the inside of the tie

2. Cut the tie to your desired length, slightly more than double the length of your glasses

3. Fold over the raw edge twice and run through a sewing machine using decorative stitching

4. Fold the finished end of the tie to ¾ inch below the triangle of the tie and hand stitch down the corners

5. Fold the point of the tie to cover the end, then press down the tie to get crisp edges

6. Add Velcro dots to the opening of the case, add stitches on the sides for added security
