Ken Wingard is getting ready for the holidays by showing you how to make your own menorah.

Materials

  • Wood (dimensions below)
  • 1.5 and 3 inch wood screws
  • Sand Paper
  • Ruler
  • Safety Goggles
  • Wood Glue

DIY Tabletop Menorah - Home & Family

Dimensions for Wood Pieces (In Inches):

5.5 x 30 x .5

18 x 11 x 1

9x6x2

4x4x4

4 x 27 x .5

2.5 x .5 x 24

2 x 2 x 8 (8 of these)2.5 x 1.5 x 11 (cut at an angle)

Steps to make top:

1- Cut all wood pieces to size

2- Sand edges to smooth

3- Use 3/4 Inch paddle bit to drill candle holes in the 9 candle stick holders

4- Measure 24 inch base piece to determine candle stick locations, leaving 1 inch between each stick

5- Drill 9 pilot holes in base

6- Drill pilot holes in bottom of 9 candle sticks

7- Attach sticks to base using your 1.5 inch wood screws

8- Attach base with sticks to larger base, with wood screws. Screw from underneath piece of wood

Steps to make base:

1- Attach 9 x 6 x 2 wood board to 4 x 4 x 4 wood cube with wood screws from underneath

2- Attach base plank with wood screws from underneath

3- Attach 30 inch board to 4 x 4 x 4 cube with wood screws from top down

4- Place candle holder on top of base and attach from bottom with wood screws

**For added security, add wood glue before screwing everything in place**
