Orly Shani is showing you how to take a jean jacket and give it sweater sleeves.

Materials

  • Jean Jacket
  • Sweater
  • Fabric scissors
  • Seam Ripper
  • Needle & thread (optional)
  • Fabric glue (optional)
  • Pins

Directions

1. The first thing you need to do is cut the sleeves off your sweaters/jackets.
2. For the sweater sleeves you’re going to seam rip open the sweater arm off, because the fabric can easily fray & shred
3. For the denim jacket arms use fabric scissors & cut along the seam
4. Take your sweater sleeves & slid them under the opening of the jean jacket. Then pin your sweater sleeves to the jacket
5. Next, you can hand sew your sleeves on OR you can fabric glue them onto the jacket. If you fabric glue then fabric glue in between the pins. Take the pins out once dry & then go & fabric glue where the pins were
6. If you have baggy sleeves then you can either hem the sleeves to make them tighter, or you can pleat the sweater at the top of the shoulder
7. To add embellishments: cut off the cuffs of your jean jacket & sew along the end of your sleeves. You could also use fabric glue the same way you glued the sleeve on. For a pocket embellishment trace the shape of your pocket flap onto fabric, cut out & then attach with fabric glue
