DIY Mushroom Reading Stool

Tanya Memme and Paige Hemmis team up for a DIY.

Materials

  • 1 ½ yards of felt (any color)
  • 1 sheet of white felt
  • 2 bags of pillow Stuffing
  • Planter
  • Fabric Glue
  • Gorilla Glue
  • Drill
  • Screw
  • Scissors
  • 18 inch plywood round
  • 36 inch plywood round
  • Green material for grass base (felt, shagg, etc)

To Make Mushroom Reading Stool

 

1.     Measure enough fabric to cover the 18 inch round

2.     Place stuffing on top of fabric (about 2 bags worth)

3.     Place wooden round on top of stuffing

4.     Wrap material and staple on its back side to secure

5.     Cut excess material

6.     Add extra staples to secure

7.     Screw in planter to the bottom of mushroom top

8.     Glue on  dots  for finished product

 

To Make Grassy base

 

1.     Take 36 inch round and measure against green material

2.     Staple or glue material onto round

3.     If you want to make it one furniture piece, leave a space to glue Mushroom reading stool and secure
