DIY Mini Halloween Pinatas

Maria Provenzano is helping us celebrate Halloween with fun individualized mini piñatas.
DIY Mini Mummy, Pumpkin & Bat Halloween Pinatas

MUMMY PIÑATA MATERIALS:

  • Paper roll/tube
  • White crepe paper streamers
  • White tissue
  • Scissors
  • String/twine
  • Treats/candy
  • Googly eyes
  • Glue
  • Tape

MUMMY PIÑATA INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Cut cardboard round/disc slightly smaller than the tube opening
  2. Cut slits on the side and wrap string around, knot underneath. Make sure to leave enough string to run down the length of the tube and a little excess to act as the pinata pull
  3. Fill with treats and goodies
  4. Tape tissue paper on bottom of paper tube
  5. Cut hole in the middle and pull string through (make sure the cardboard plug is on top)
  6. Cover the top with tissue paper and secure with tape
  7. Use white crepe paper streamers and wrap around tube to create mummy
  8. Add googly eyes with glue
  9. Pull to release the candy and enjoy!

BAT PIÑATA MATERIALS:

  • Paper roll/tube
  • Scissors
  • String/twine
  • Treats/candy
  • Googly eyes
  • Glue
  • Tape
  • Black cardstock
  • Black paint
  • Paint brush
  • Black paper

BAT PIÑATA INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Paint tube black, let dry
  2. Cut cardboard round/disc slightly smaller than the tube opening
  3. Cut slits on the side and wrap string around, knot underneath. Make sure to leave enough string to run down the length of the tube and excess to act as the pinata pull
  4. Fill with treats and goodies
  5. Wrap tube with black paper (leave a little extra to cover the edges)
  6. Bend the top to form ears
  7. Add googly eyes with glue
  8. Cut out wings from black cardstock and attach with glue
  9. Pull to release the candy and enjoy!

PUMPKIN PIÑATA MATERIALS:

  • Paper cup
  • String/twine
  • Orange crepe paper streamers
  • Treats/ candy
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Tape

PUMPKIN PIÑATA INSTRUCTIONS:

Cut paper cup in half

Cut out bottom of paper cup and to create disc

Cut slits on the side and wrap string around, knot underneath. Make sure to leave enough string to run down the length of the tube and excess to act as the pinata pull

Fill with treats and goodies

Tape tissue paper on both ends of the cup and secure with tape.

Cut 3-4 pieces of crepe paper to cover cup

Lay out in a star pattern with the cup in the center. Cut a hole and pull string through all the layers

Bring all the pieces up to meet at the top, crumple to form stem

Cover stem in twine, leave long to hang

Decorate with face and crepe paper leaf

Pull to release the candy and enjoy!
