DIY Mermaid Tail Blanket - Home & Family
Instructions
1) Create the pattern using muslin
2) Fold fabric to create two layers
3) Cut and sew
4) Cut down back to create seam (Only sew up the back halfway so it is easier to get into)
5) Make the fin (Fold fabric twice to create front and back, put pattern piece on top and cut to create identical fins, sew all the way around, flip inside out and pin to the base of the tail)
*To clean up the edges, fold over and sew like a regular hem or create a separate piece that acts as binding
*Tip: If your fabric has a pattern, make sure the print of the fin goes in the opposite direction as the print of the body
