Here is a very simple way to up your at home workout game with just one tiny tool: resistance bands. These stretchy bands are so versatile, and fun to use, too. They're good for building muscles and a great way to get in shape.

MATERIALS:

  • Resistance bands

SQUATS

  1. Stand on the band with feet shoulder width apart and hold the handles next to your shoulders so the band is behind the back of your arms.
  2. Slowly sit down and back into the squat position keeping your abdominals tight and chest lifted.
  3. Press back up through heels, and squeezing your glutes. Repeat for reps.

LUNGES

  1. Stand on the band with feet and shoulder width apart and hold the handles next to your shoulders so the band is behind the back of your arms.
  2. Slowly sit down and back into the squat position keeping your abdominals tight and chest lifted.
  3. Press back up through heels, squeezing glutes. Repeat for reps.

SHOULDERS

Hold the resistance band with a shoulder-width grip and your hands by your thighs, palms facing towards you. Keeping your arms extended, raise your arms for a three-second count until your hands reach shoulder height. Hold this position under tension for one or two seconds, then lower slowly.

BICEPS

Keeping your upper arms fixed at your sides, curl your hands toward your face, maintaining the pronated forearm/wrist position down Squeeze the peak contraction in the biceps and forearms at the top, then slowly lower back to start. Repeat for reps.

TRICEPS

Stand on your resistance band with your feet at shoulder width and hold both handles at the back of your shoulders. Keep your elbows pointing upwards and your biceps in near your ears. Straighten both arms at your elbows working against the resistance of the band. Repeat for reps.
