When a family of swans makes their home on the Peterson farm, it’s love at first sight for 10-year-old daughter Frankie (Maggie Elizabeth Jones). But along comes no-nonsense ornithologist Ginny Newsom (Minka Kelly), who rushes in to “save” the majestic birds. For Frankie’s dad Jack (Jason Lee), it’s dislike at first sight when he encounters pushy, know-it-all Ginny. Frankie and her brothers are anything but neutral observers as they watch the initial hostility between their widowed father and the strong-willed Ginny transform into something else. Could romance be in the air?
It’s morning at Grey House and Abigail and Cassie are discussing what to do with their delinquent guest Alexis. Alexis owes Cassie for her stay at Grey House and owes Abigail for several bouquets and now that they’ve caught her trying to leave without paying, Cassie and Abigail are torn over what to do next. Abigail still wants to call the police, but Cassie isn’t sure that’s the best course. For Alexis’ part, she was hoping that her brother could convince her father to reactivate her credit cards, but both her brother and father now think it’s time for Alexis to grow up and get a job. Cassie decides that she won’t call the police if Alexis works off her debts. With no other choice, Alexis agrees.
As Holly finishes up her work on the film set in Vancouver, Rodney continues to parent solo. Being the stricter parent, he puts the boys to work doing chores, and uses this as incentive when Robinson asks to re-decorate his room. If Robinson works hard around the house, he can earn a new bed and furniture he is wanting. However, when Holly gets home, she has her own ideas when it comes to Robinson’s requests, and she and Rodney and don’t see eye to eye.
