In 1997, Holly and Rodney formed the HollyRod Foundation, inspired by her father’s courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease, with the mission to help improve the quality of life of people with Parkinson’s. Then in 2005, motivated by their eldest son RJ’s autism diagnosis, HollyRod’s mission expanded to provide support and resources to those affected by an autism diagnosis.
Refusing to let construction delays on her flagship autism center, RJ’s Place, keep her down, Holly sets out to put on a job fair to provide pre-vocational training for young people with autism. The job fair is a massive success with most of the people attending getting hired on the spot. Overwhelmed with gratitude, Holly calls to thank one of the companies and ends up receiving the surprise of a lifetime.
