It’s that time of year again as the residents of Cedar Cove prepare for the annual charity softball game. Last year’s game pitted the team from Moon’s Café against Bob and Peggy’s Thyme & Tide team. This year the two teams face off again, but with a change to one team’s line-up. Paul, who attended college on a baseball scholarship, will be the captain of Moon’s team.
Sam stops by Cassie’s shop to surprise her with a kiss, which is interrupted by Martha. Cassie is happy that Martha is there to talk about the upcoming Health Fest that Cassie is in charge of every year. Cassie wants help from Sam, but she asks Martha to be the one to request his assistance.
Cassie is about to close up the store for the evening when Martha comes in looking for a map of historic Middleton. Once she finds the map, Martha realizes it might be a bit older than what she was looking for. Sam surprises Cassie by bringing in boxes for her to help pack old inventory to make room for new arrivals. When Sam kisses Cassie before departing, Martha points out to Cassie that it definitely appears she and Sam have gotten closer.

After Derrick Porter is indicted, Abby is offered her job back with Del, but she is unsure about whether to return. To keep busy, she gets involved with the school play and meets the 3rd grade teacher, Jay. The two get to know each other. Before Trace left for a big music tour, Abby broke things off as she was unable to handle the distance and playing second fiddle to Trace’s true passion – his music. Trace tries to reconnect with Abby and restart their romantic relationship but she is evasive, and the pair ultimately decides to go their separate ways. Abby focuses her attention on the family business, and Mick names her President of O’Brien Construction. A high profile and eccentric new client, Evan Kincaid, keeps Abby on her toes as she runs point on his hotel project in Chesapeake Shores. As progress is made with the build, Evan gets to know more members of the family and seems to want a closer connection with Abby. Jay too, lets Abby know he would like to pursue a romantic attachment with her. Who will Abby choose?
A determined Jack properly asks Elizabeth for a dinner date, finally making his romantic intentions clear. Elizabeth is excited, and is in for another very special surprise-an unexpected visit from her younger sister, Julie.
