Q: How was it working with your co-stars on your first-ever Hallmark movie?
A: “I want to write a joke here, something sarcastic and not mushy. I really do, but I can’t bring myself to do it. Everyone was great. Katie’s a superstar and a fantastic person. I can’t begin to explain how lucky I personally was to have her as my Cora. Evan would have made my job easier if he wasn’t so suave and handsome and cool. Jessica Sipos has the best stories and is a powerhouse actress. She even managed to make me look like I knew what I was doing. Felicia is a ray of sunshine, Matty Finocchio is the funniest actor I’ve ever met, Keegan is a legend, I want Paul to be my 2nd dad and Amitai is my sweet angel boy. In short, if you don’t want to use all that… I liked them a lot.”
Q: Do you have a favorite scene that you were in in any of the three movies? No spoilers!
A: “Ah, so many! We talked a lot about certain ‘tentpole’ scenes each film had, you know those big moments where we swung for the fences. Those are all hard to overlook but are potential spoilers. The Irish scenes! All of them! I mean we filmed in and around castles with real horses and carriages going past! Ok, I’ll give you one of my faves from each, no spoilers - 1: window walk, 2: water walk, and 3: celestial talk.”
Q: You played a cop in both this role and as Luke Tucker in Allegiance; what has been the biggest difference in this role compared to that one?
A: “I died in both, but in this one I was reincarnated.
My actual answer: The characters are vastly different, an actor's dream really. In Allegiance, Luke was a young, ambitious man who was driven to become a great police officer. Liam is thrown into it, not really wanting to be there, but then kind of actually takes to it. I think although they were in very different worlds and different guys, the interesting similarity is that they were both very easy to judge by their covers.”
Q: What is your ideal summer full of? Travel? Dining? Reading? Relaxing at the beach?
A: “Swimming, soccer, socializing. It really is that simple for me. I want to be in the water as much as possible most of the year, but it certainly is better in summer. There’s one scene in Providence Falls that I had to get a bit … wet. Loved it!”
Q: If you could take a summer vacation anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
A: “I don’t usually travel in summer in the northern hemisphere because Vancouver has such great summers. But summer in general? Maximum water please. Caribbean, or back home to Australia, Thailand - just live on the beach or boats if possible.”
