- 1 ea hoagie roll, gutted
- 1 TBL Black Garlic Aioli
- 3/4 cup Slaw, Apple
- 7 each Shrimp, Butterfly
- 3 ea tomato, sliced
- 4 ea pickles
Ingredients for Shrimp Pickling
- Pickled Shrimp
- Shrimp Boil
- 4 qts Water
- 1 can Beer
- ½ Cup Old Bay Seasoning
- 2 TBL Salt
- 2 Lemons, sliced
- 3 Cloves Garlic, Sliced
Ingredients for Pickling Liquid
- 1 small yellow onion, sliced real thin
- 4 each garlic cloves, sliced thin
- 1 lemon, sliced thin (peel included)
- 2 tsp black peppercorns
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- 2 tsp mustard seeds
- 3 cups apple cider vinegar
- ¼ cup lemon juice
- 4 tsp Brown Sugar
- 2 tsp Tabasco/Crystal
- 2 Bay Leaves
Ingredients for Red Cabbage Apple Slaw
- 1 TBL Toasted Sesame Seeds
- 1/2 tsp Toasted Caraway Seed
- 1/2 each Red Cabbage, Fine Shaved
- 1 each Jalapeno, Seeded and Minced
- 1/2 each red onion, diced and rinsed
- 2 TBL cilantro, chopped
- 2 each limes, juiced
- 2 TBL apple cider vinegar
- 1 TBL Sriracha
- 1 TBL olive oil
- 1/2 tsp Sesame oil
Pickled Shrimp Po'Boy with Apple Slaw - Home & Family
Directions for Shrimp Pickling
1) In Large pot, Bring to a boil
2) Shrimp in basket, put in boil.
3) Remove when done and place into ice bath.
4) Place chilled shrimp into a 2 quart container.
Directions for Pickling Juice
1) Place all in pot and bring to boil.
2) from heat and let sit for 10 minutes.
3) Pour over shrimp
* Mix it all together
