Maria Provenzano is turning a lamp shade into a fashionable chandelier.

  • Hanging lamp shade
  • Wood beads in a variety of sizes
  • Natural twine or similar string that is stronger than a traditional thread
  • Scissors
  • Chains
  • Doll needle
  • Hot glue
  • Lightbulb

1. Remove the outer part of the lamp shade, and use the wire base as the chandelier
2. Hang the wire base so that you can measure the length of the string and the beads you need
3. Once you decide how you want to hang the beads, begin to string them on twine
4. Use a doll needle to string beads according to the size you desire
5. Make sure to leave enough room of twine at the ends of each bead necklace that you create
6. Once all your bead necklaces are made, begin assembling the beads on wire base and tie accordingly
7. To create a swag, do three to four lines of the beads and layer on top of each other
8. Once all of the beads are strung, secure them with a dot of hot glue
9. Insert light bulb in wire base
