Paige Hemmis’ Holiday Heating Bags

Materials:

  • 1 large bag of Jasmine Rice
  • ½ a yard of fabric
  • ½ a yard of fabric
  • 1 spool of thick crafty thread
  • 1 large sewing needle
  • 1 roll of double-sided fabric tape
  • 1 roll of ribbon
  • Pins to hold the fabric in place

Directions:

  1. Lay out the fabric on a flat surface
  2. Cut fabric to 24” long x 10” wide
  3. Iron fabric
  4. Fold the cloth in half, inside out
  5. Iron the fabric again to set the fold
  6. Fold all of the edges over and pin it in place
  7. Add double-sided tape to all of the folded edges
  8. Make large stitches along the entire edge with crafty thread
  9. Leave one side open to fill the rice.
  10. Turn fabric inside out again so that the right side is now outside
  11. Pour the rice in
  12. Fold the edges in at the opening
  13. Pin, tape & sew the opening (like the other sides)
  14. Heat in microwave for 3 minutes
