Mark's Tips for Taking Holiday Photos

1. Don’t tell people to say "cheese" when taking a photo.

2. For great candid shots you want the action coming to you. 3. For a cohesive family portrait, you want to wear neutral colors that complement you. 4. You have to look at the big picture. I have a saying called "Go to the door." Meaning that you want the action coming toward you so get those great shots and you don’t want to be behind where everything is happening. 5. Don’t dress in patterns and loud colors. Wear solids and neutrals that complement you so your family looks like a collection of people. If you have kids, you’ll usually get a smile after a surprise so anticipate that reaction.
