Garage Planning Tips:
1. PLANNING is the first step.

2. CLEAN OUT THE GARAGE
a. Have a garage sale and start with a clean slate. Whatever is left over can be donated to charity or organized into cabinets.

3. MAKE A SKETCH
a. Measure the area. Figure out where everything will go. Then, you’ll have a good idea of how much room you need for everything. Account for things that can’t be moved. Like a hot water heater.

4. BUILD or INSTALL CABINETS. There are a lot of good storage options available. Search the internet for pictures you like.
a. Stackable bins
b. Prefabricated cabinets that you install yourself.
c. Organizational companies that will install everything for you.
d. Repurpose things you already have.
- An old door, becomes a good work table with sawhorses.
- Old dressers become hardware cabinets. 5. CONSIDER POWER SOURCES: What kind is the best solution for you? Do you need a dedicated line?
a. Retractable hanging cords.
b. Ultra long power strips.

6. CONSIDER FLOOR SURFACE:
a. What kind of floor is right for you?
b. There are durable cushioned tiles you can lay yourself.
c. Linoleum (textured or plain) you can roll out.
d. Epoxy and urethane seals for concrete (oil, water and grease resistant.

7. CONSIDER LIGHTING:
a. What will you need to add?
b. Florescent Tubes are economical. (4ft., 2-lamp, T8 tubes)
