Jessie Jane's DIY Christmas Tree Ruffle Skirt


  • 4 yards fabric –natural fabric, canvas or linen gives a raw edge that won't fray.
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun
  • Heat proof gloves to work w/hot glue
  • 3 yards ribbon for ties
  • Decorative buttons


  1. Preheat hot glue gun.
  2. Apply a line of hot glue approximately 1 ½ inches from outside edge of skirt.
  3. Create ruffles by pinching linen w/fingers and pushing the gathers onto hot glue.
  4. Work in small sections, no more than about 12 inches at a time.
  5. Continue this process around the entire skirt edge.
  6. Start the next row approximately 1 ½ inches above the previous row.
  7. Continue adding rows until entire canvas base is covered.
