Jessie And Cristina's Tips For Setting A Buffet Tablescape

Tip #1: Choose a Theme and Set the Foundation
We chose a metallic version of a copper earth tone set off by white accents to put a holiday spin on a fall color. Whatever you choose, carry the theme throughout! Place tablecloth over table and set up your foundation for the tablescape. Create levels with pots and pans, and even terracotta pots. You want to use anything from around the house that is solid and even. Drape fabric on top of the levels so that we are camouflaging the household items, while maximizing our table space. Place Centerpiece nice and tall right in the center!
Tip # 2: Arrange for the Best Flow
Always have a separate table for beverages. This will save on space for food, and keep the line moving! Place plateware at the start of line and silverware at end, to keep hand free!
Tip #3: Have a Strategy in Table Placement!
Place food on the tablescape foundation according to temperature, cold food first, then hot. That way, by the time you get to the end of the line, your hot food won’t have cooled off!
Arrange the dishes on either side of Centerpiece, and then fill in the negative space with items in keeping with your theme. Click here to get your copy of Cristina's cookbook, "Big Bowl of Love." Get additional recipes from Cristina at www.cristinaferrarecooks.com.
