End of Summer Fun in the Sun

Materials for Flipper Fill-Up:

  • Flippers
  • Colanders
  • Hose
  • Glass cup
  • Blindfold

To Play:

One child puts on flippers; the other child is the clue giver and leader.  The leader will have to give directions for the other player to find and pick up the hose, head across the lawn to their seated teammate, and hold the hose over the colander.  The person seated will be holding an empty glass cup. Whoever’s glass cup gets filled up with the most water first, wins the game.

Water Balloon Dodgeball:
What you need: You need at least five water balloons per player and two plastic tubs.

How to play: Divide the children into two teams. Each team gets a tub of water balloons. Establish a line and have each team line up on opposite sides of the line facing each other.

The rules: At the starting signal, players throw water balloons at each other. When a player is hit by a water balloon, that player is out of the game. Players have to be hit with a balloon three times to be out of the game.

How to win: The last player remaining in the game is the winner.
