Brett Tutor of "Trading Spaces," is making a Christmas tree out of pine wood.

Materials

  • 1 8 ft 1 x 2 Pine Wood
  • 3 or 4 ½ inch dowels
  • Miter Saw
  • Glue
  • Pins
  • Pin Gun
  • Air Compressor
  • Hot glue
  • Hot glue gun
  • Ornaments
  • Large Ornament Hooks

Directions

1. Find the exact angle for the wood, we did 50 degrees and 20 degrees

2. Measure out the Christmas ornaments so that you get the length that you want. We did 4 ½ inch spacing between each. The smaller cut has to be ¾ inches smaller so it fits

3. Make your cuts with a miter saw

4. Glue and pin nail the joints

5. Cut your dowels to size - space out the dowels at 4 ½ inches, cut them at a 20 degree angle. Make sure you measure from point A to point B in the triangle so they’ll fit

6. Attach the dowels to the triangle with hot glue

7. For the base, cut 6 inches and then another piece 2 inches

8. Nail and Glue the base

9. Wrap ornament hooks around dowels and hang ornaments
