Materials
- PVC pipes
- PVC glue
- Dark green paint
- Polyurethane finish
- Butcher paint
- Plastic pumpkins
- Wire & zip ties
- Poster Board
- 4 to 5 coat hangers
Steps
-Cut 8 pieces of pipe into roughly 10" lengths.
-Insert a 10" piece into each side of a T to make 4 straight bars
-Cut 4 pieces of pipe roughly 20" long
-Using 8 45 degree elbows join these 4 pieces with the 4 bars with the T to make a hexagon. Make sure that all the T's are facing up.
-Using random lengths of pipe and an assortment of elbows create four "wacky" legs the height you want your vine.
-Insert a leg into each T
-Use addition T's and elbows to join the legs at the top to form a pyramid.
-Take 6 coat hangers and stretch out the wire.
-Spray with glue and wrap them in painters paper twisting as you go.
-Curl them around a piece of pipe to make curly cues.
-Spray the pipe with adhesive a small portion at a time.
-Wrap the painters paper around the pipe crinkling as you go.
-Every now and then insert a curly cue and continue until the entire structure is covered.
-Cut leaf shapes from poster board.
-Use a glue gun to make veins on the leaf
-Bend in half long ways and glue a piece of coat hanger wire down the center with hot glue leave at lease 8 inches of extra wire at base.
-Paint with green paint.
-Use wire at base to attach leaf to vine.
-Mix polyurethane with a small about if green paint and paint entire vine.
-Carve foam pumpkins and cut or like two holes in the back
-Thread zip tie through holes and use to secure pumpkins to vine.
