MATERIALS:
TO CREATE THE GUMDROPS:
- Colorful plastic cups
- Sandpaper
- White glitter in both chunky and fine textures
- Mod podge and brush or spray adhesive
- Wooden craft nutcrackers
TO CREATE THE NUTCRACKERS:
- Paint to match the gumdrop colors
- Paintbrush if using brush-on acrylic paint
- Glitter foam sheets in colors to match
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Ruler
TO EXHIBIT THE GUMDROP FOREST:
- Objects to create levels
- Snow blanket or quilt batting
- Faux snow
- Bottle brush trees
INSTRUCTIONS:
TO CREATE THE GUMDROPS:
- Sand the surface of the plastic cups a bit to give them some texture.
- Mix the textures of glitter until blended together.
- Coat the cup with adhesive by either painting on mod podge or applying spray adhesive all over.
- Sprinkle the glitter mixture onto the cup.
- Repeat steps 1-4 to create as many gumdrops as desired.
TO CREATE THE NUTCRACKERS:
- Paint the nutcrackers to match the gumdrops. Allow to dry.
- Measure any of the areas you want to add the glitter sheet accent.
- Mark out and cut the glitter sheet pieces.
- Adhere the glitter sheet to desired areas with hot glue.
TO EXHIBIT THE GUMDROP FOREST:
- In the desired location for the forest, position objects to create levels for the trees, gumdrops and nutcrackers.
- Cover the levels in a piece or multiple pieces of snow blanket or quilt batting.
- Arrange the gumdrops, nutcrackers and bottle brush trees as desired.
- Sprinkle faux snow over the snow blanket and enjoy!
