DIY Gingerbread House Boxes - Home & Family
INSTRUCTIONS:
To create the house:
- Create the “A” frame of the roof. On the short sides of the box, find the center of each flap and use a ruler to draw a line from the center of the edge to the bottom corner of each side so that you have an isosceles triangle. Cut the corners off with scissors on both flaps.
- Push the flaps of the long sides down so that they lay flat.
- Cut the roof from a separate piece of cardboard. Measure the edges of the “A” frame and cut to that width and the length of the box, plus two inches for the lip of the roof. Crease and fold in the center to create the peak of the roof.
- Cut a piece of white felt and adhere it to the roof cardboard.
To create the neutral gingerbread house box:
- Draw out the house detail designs in pencil.
- Flesh out the design by tracing over the design with a white paint pen or white craft paint and paintbrush. Allow to dry.
- Place gifts inside, place the roof on top, and enjoy!
