DIY Christmas Potpourri Manger

Paige Hemmis is celebrating the holidays with this scented DIY and making her own potpourri.

Materials for Manger

  • 6 inch Cinnamon Sticks
  • Hot Glue
  • Cinnamon Oil
  • Star Anise
  • LED Lights

Ingredients for Christmas Potpourri

  • Dried Conifer and Evergreen Leaves
  • Dried Pomegranate Buds
  • Mini Pinecones
  • Pepper Pods
  • Dried Orange
  • Cloves
  • Juniper Berries
  • Whole Cardamom
  • Cinnamon
  • Rose Hips
  • Fragrance Materials:
  • Orris Root (Absorbs and “fixes” fragrance to last a long time)
  • Essential Oils: Frankincense and Myrrh, Atlas Cedarwood, Bergamot, Vanilla

Directions for Manger

1. Assemble the manger in your desired shape using cinnamon sticks and hot glue

2. Rub Cinnamon oil over the cinnamon sticks for extra fragrance

3. Wrap lights around the manger, using it to hang the star anise from the top of the manger

Directions for Manger

1. Add drops of essential oil to orris root to absorb fragrances (We used 20 drops frankincense, 10 Bergemont, 5 Cedar, 2 Vanilla)

2. Add scented orris root to dried florals

3. Store in airtight container, in a dark closet until Christmas

4. Place a few leaves on bottom of manger platform

5. Add potpourri to manger

6. Top basket of Frankincense, myrrh, & Gold!
