DYI Boarded up Windows and Doors - Home & Family
Directions
1. Cut ribbon to match the length of the window (use a color that matches window trim)
2. Take your foam core and use an X-ACTO knife to cut it into several pieces
3. Use a ruler and smash it into the edges of the foam board to give it a jagged
look
4. Paint the foam board using brown spray paint TIP: Use spray paint because it
will eat away at the foam board and give it a distressed look
5. Once the spray paint dries, coat the brown with a diluted gray paint
6. Lay out your ribbon (use ribbon 2” thick) and use heavy duty exterior double-
sided tape to attach the foam board slabs onto the ribbon
7. Use poster strips to attach the ribbon to with window or door frame
