Shenae Grimes Beech Interview

The actress visits Home & Family to talk about her all-new Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Movie, “Sandra Brown’s White Hot,” which premieres April 17th at 9/8c. She describes the film as gritty and very exciting. The film was shot in Vancouver and Shenae jokes that it was a very male-heavy cast. Aside from acting, Shenae shares a big passion for hockey with her husband! The couple particularly are fans of the LA Kings and go to as many games as they possibly can, in addition to hosting hockey parties at their house when they aren’t at the games.

Chef Melissa Cookston Cooks

World Champion Pit Master, Chef Melissa Cookston is in the yard cooking up a smoked turkey waffle sandwich with sweet potato chips. While she is prepping the turkey, Melissa talks about her experience of being the very first female World Champion Pit Master and breaking into a “boys’ club” of BBQ. When prepping the turkey, make sure you smoke up for three hours. She chooses to smoke the meat over BBQing it because she uses big cuts of meat and smoking it makes it juicer and more tender.

For the first time, Sandra also got to act as Executive Producer of “White Hot.” She also talks about how she started her writing career. She credits her husband’s encouragement to inspiring her to write. She says she had a fire in her belly and it took over a year to complete a manuscript and then got feedback from friends. She started doing her research and worked hard on her re-writes. From there, she found an agent and manager and readers.
