Materials
  • 1x4x7 Wood
  • 1x4x4 Wood
  • 1x4x4.75 Wood
  • 4" 1/4” Dowel
  • 7" 1/4" Dowel
  • Wood glue
  • Paint

Ken Wingard is showing you how to make your own bird feeder using real fruit, just in time for their winter migration.

Direction

1. Cut the top of largest piece of wood into a peak

2. Drill two holes using a 1/4" drill bit: one 3" from peak and one 6" from peak

3. Attach two smaller pieces of wood to the peak to create a roof. Secure with wood glue and nails

4. Add screw eye to top of roof

5. Use a sander to sharpen both ends of the shorter dowel to a point

6. Insert shorter dowel into upper hole, glue in place

7. Insert longer dowel into lower hole, glue in place

8. Paint as desired
