Magician Lawrence Pross is accused of manslaughter after a volunteer dies in his iron maiden trick. His daughter Maggie convinces him to hire Frank and Lu, suspecting sabotage by his rival Anton.

When the Mayor of Arden is murdered, suspicion falls on local criminal Billy the Brick, who is missing. DI Marlowe pressures Frank to find him. Billy turns up, pleading for Frank to clear his name.

When a dead rat appears on Hiverna restaurant's menu, chef Len Tekler hires Frank and Lu to find the saboteur trying to ruin his chance at Restaurant of the Year. The situation worsens with food poisoning, closing the restaurant.
Episode 10: Ill Met by Moonlight
Teenager Hamish is haunted by a recurring dream of a murdered woman and fears it's a premonition. He asks Frank and Lu to follow him, leading them to a silent retreat run by his hippy mother and stepfather.
